When a DC Fast Charger is selected, you'll know that because the distance to destination symbol on the instrument cluster becomes a charger instead of a finish line flag.

When you're within about 19 miles of that charger, it will automatically begin preconditioning in the background.

That symbol says you are navigating to a charger, not that the vehicle is preconditioning...

My 23 doesn't behave this way. If I turn off the car and don't open the door it asks me if I want to disable the alarm and I can still access the screen to open the frunk or trunk.
My problem is my wife opens the door at soon as I turn off the car so I can't access the screen. I found it easier to train myself not to turn it off until the trunk is open than it was to explain to her every time why she needed to wait before opening her door.

The Apple Maps preconditioning is awesome! I still really want a manual preconditioning option. Road trips are dynamic (‘honey, find a rest stop in the next 15-20 miles…’) and it’d be nice to just start the protocol without adding the charger to the route.

I know we’re late in the game here, but I still think the 2021-2023.5 cars could have a more optimized charge curve to shave time off the 10-80%.

The below session was pretty optimal for my car back in March 2026. Adding 32% in 15 mins for a 2021 GT only yields about 75 miles of road trip range.

I always find the sluggishness a bit of a problem (not had the update yet).

It is odd that if audio is off and the last thing listened to was a DAB radio, the hitting the power button results in instant audio from the previously selected DAB radio. However, if you hit the name of the station in the banner below CarPlay then it has to load up the radio app which is very slow on first opening.

1) Why can’t Sync be opening the apps in the background so that they are ready to switch quickly when you need.

2) Why can’t we have saved preset buttons (ideally half the size) in the banner below for frequently used stations that are quick to action without switching to the radio app. I don’t need tyre pressures, phone, navigation, or whatever last used app in the banner as that’s all done in CarPlay.

3) Why is there no audio source button on the wheel? They only way I have found to force a source switch is to use the Ford Voice (quick tap) ‘play name of station’ and then Siri (long press) ‘play playlist / albums etc.’

Why? Only 2021 vehicles are getting it as of now.
