I received an e-mail some time ago that said my Tesla charging adapter should arrive in April 2024. I have not received it. Does anyone know who to contact to follow up? I tried my dealer but no one seems to want to help.
Ford never guaranteed an arrival date. Their email pointed to a web site that had a “estimated ship date.” You can check the status of your order by logging into your Ford account and selecting the “Reservations and Orders” option. As was said before, some April and all May estimates have been revised to June. ??

I think the bigger question is when was the last time anyone received the adapter?
I too received an email in April that it was coming in June not May.
As far as we know, there was only one shipment, the one in early April when some of the April estimates were shipped and the fulfillment house screwed up and sent a bunch out of order. I assume this is why some of the April estimates were delayed until June. Nobody has reported receiving a genuine Tesla adapter since the first spate of reports. ?‍♂?

There are many posts on this. April, and May orders got moved to June. Whether they will ship in June or not is anyone's guess, Ford is now telling people they don't know (recent posts).

If you want an adapter now, buy A2ZEV's. It will arrive by the first week of June if ordered now. When you finally get the Ford one, sell whichever one you want to if you don't want a spare. Once other car makers beyond Ford and Rivian get access to Tesla Superchargers, demand will be steady for a long time. $177.30 for the Typhoon (Supercharger adapter), $252 for both it and the Tesla Destination adapter.
I’m sure this has been covered somewhere before, so can someone point me to the thread that discusses the diffference between Typhoon and Destination adapters, or explain it to me like I’m a ten-year-old? Should one have both?
Many thanks!

Typhoon (A2ZEV adapter) is for DCFC on Superchargers - only does DCFC
Destination adapters are for L2 on Tesla Destination/Wall chargers - only does AC (aka Level 2, L2)

Typhoon requires you to flip the tab on your charge inlet open to charge, destination doesn’t.

When you're away from home, you have 2 different levels of charging you'll seek. High speed / DC / Supercharging and Level 2 / AC / Destination Charging.

Since the Mach-E has a CCS port for high speed charging, it needs an adapter for the Tesla Superchargers, which charge the car in roughly 30 minutes just like an Electrify America station does (without an adapter). The adapter name of "Typhoon" is what A2ZEV has called theirs, and is unique to them.

When you stop at a hotel overnight, or maybe a park, or your friend's house, you'll use a level 2 / Destination charger. That needs a different adapter, which A2Z calls "Stellar". It can do AC charging up to 80amps, (Mach-E only uses 48amps max), 80amps is the fastest AC charging today. A Destination charger will charge at various speeds, depending on the amount of power the owner of the location is providing. I've seen as low as 3 or 4kW, and as high as 16kW. Basically, this is an overnight charge.

The Typhoon adapter is $197, and is currently 10% off, $177.30. Ships in early June.
The Stellar adapter is $112, and you can get 10% off it also, $100.80.
Or, you can order both, via the dropdown menu on the Typhoon adapter page, and pay $252, which is 18.4% off.

2 years ago I bought a "TeslaTap", made by another company for Destination Charging, and paid for it what both of the above adapters cost today. I like the A2Z adapters better. I've had several conversations with their CEO and he is committed to the highest quality and service. Right now, they're the best game in town IMO.

Once your Ford adapter arrives, you can then decide which to keep (and sell one), or keep both. Once other car makes like GM enter the Tesla charging pool, these adapters will sell like hotcakes.

Hope that helps. https://a2zevshop.com/?ref=Typhoon

Thanks to everyone for their responses, but special shoutout to RickMackE. One last question—the Stellar adapter is the same as the ford adapter that came with the car, yes? It’s what I use at home.
Again, many thanks!

The only thing that comes with the car is a charger with 2 pigtails. The Stellar adapter is what you use with a Tesla Destination Charger. Totally different things.

Whoops—not the same, but similar to, what the Ford charging capabilities are. Sorry to be so dense.

So I also had an email stating that my charger was on it's way. But then it never showed up. It got stranded somewhere in Michigan. Reached out to FedEx (No one knows where the package is), reached out to Ford and they are reviewing what can be done, which means I have to go to the back of the line and wait probably 6 months more for the adapter.

This was their reply:

We have received your escalation request for order FAE:90006140. Our Case Coordinators are aware of the critical nature of this issue and are working diligently with Ford Operations to resolve it as quickly as possible. We have requested to be kept updated on the progress and will provide an update as soon as we receive a response from our support ticket.

Thank you for your patience and understanding throughout this process. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions or concerns. Please call us at 844-589-0060 or visit www.parts.ford.com and click on “Chat Now” at the bottom of the page. You may also email us at [email protected]. We are available Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EST. Please reference your case number CAS-50143576-P1Z9G2 if contacting us directly. Please do not reply to this email as your response may go unnoticed.

I would not hold my breath for Ford's adapters, because this doesn't make sense. A 3rd party can get a functional adapter up and running in no time, but the manufacturer cannot have in masses the promised adapter for us to use. You cant even go to the parts department and buy one at a dealership, is not even posted online for you to buy. It's disappointing for sure!!!!!

If the adapters are made off-shore then we are in for a wait.
The Panama Canal has extra low water levels with the current long drought. Container ships have to off load many of their containers for crossing the Isthmus using the Panama Railroad. Like they did before the second canal was built.
The Suez Canal has lost traffic thanks to the Houthi's attacking ships in the Red Sea. Ships which previously used the Suez Canal are diverting around Africa which adds a month to their voyages.
The Baltimore Key Bridge collapse adds to the problem as ships seek other ports to unload their containers and cars.
The containers of adapters may be stuck on a ship off Africa or Panama.
I believe many people do not understand the strategic importance of the Panama Canals, the Suez Canal, The Great Lakes Locks, the Strait of Hormuz or the Puget Sound bottle neck…..all have huge implications on our economies

As has been pointed out ad nauseam in these forums, Ford doesn’t make these adapters, Tesla does. The delay is on Tesla’s end.

I had a false alarm this morning. Just saw that I have an incoming FedEx shipment. When I opened the email I was disappointed that it was something else.
