Ford Mustang Mach-E Tesla Launched FSD v14 1759854944722-96

Tesla just launched a major update to FSD, v14. It now has the ability to avoid road debris, handle unique edge cases, and park in garages, parking lots, etc.

Future revisions of the Mach E should maybe consider getting a license to FSD from Tesla.

Here is my take: PR, management of Tesla and many owners state it is the greatest thing to exist and it is worth the additional funds. Meanwhile, actual Tesla attorneys state in the court room and to DOT officials it is only level #2 and needs full supervision at all times. Tesla engineers? Can't state and don't know if HW#4 is robust enough to support what the management wants all to believe. So there you have it. A confusing situation using actual owners as test pilots.

I am fine to wait until the software is more mature before I put my families lives in it, but thank you to all the Tesla guinea pigs for taking the risk so we can someday get there.

Not to mention the rest of the public being unauthorized crash dummies.

My feeling is that it is some of the best tech around(in the US), but controlled by people that don’t have the right safety mindset and are counting on the fact that the driver, not the company, will be responsible for any accidents.

I find it ironic that the China is leading the industry to make this safer.

I have some friends purchase a new Tesla and they're obsessed with the new FSD. Myself I'm not interested, and I still prefer being in control 100% of the time.

But a proper self driving car will be so much safer... Never speeds, never gets distracted, never forgets to use a blinker, never runs a redlight, etc, etc. I am all for self driving. It cant come soon enough. The bonus of only having one car in a multicar household is just that, bonus to me.

Gross. No. FSD kills people, and the lies wrapped in more lies over a decade.
I would like to see the actual statistics on this.

Whereas I don’t trust it, but in truth it is only competing against all the idiots on the road. That isn’t a very high bar to get over.

That BTW one of the gripes I have with Musk’s attitude that “if a human can do it, then the computer should be able to do it”. I would hope for a car with better sensors than humans so that it can be safe in situations where humans aren’t.

Make no mistake we are living in the most dangerous of times. Level 2 and 3 where you are have humans that are geared to not pay attention when not actively driving, are to take over at a moments notice, driving with idiot drivers that are totally unpredictable.

Nope. Blue Cruise is fine by me. Driver assist is good. Driver take over , not in my book. But I do find the technology interesting. Maybe someday when all cars have it and they can communicate with each other.

🥱. Let me know when it’s fully autonomous with no attention required and Tesla takes liability for any accidents.

If I need to pay attention then I might as well just drive the car myself.

Same thing with Blue Cruise. What am I going to do with my hands off the wheel if I can’t use them to do something else? Rest them on my lap? Might as well just rest them on the wheel and not have to pay for it.

Well, you could eat a sandwich. Not that I would ever do anything like that, mind you 🤣

Yes, computer logic is overwhelming better than human logic behind the wheel. People will die of course with FSD and other systems, which is of course a tragedy for them and their families. But for every million miles driven there will be less death than with human drivers in charge. Problem is we can bizarrely justify 40k deaths per year in the US caused by human drivers, but there is zero tolerance for deaths caused by computer drivers.

That's how I feel. Only half the picture if the ADAS on my car is great and active if all the other cars are still being operated by and driven like idiots.

Take following distance. What's the point of my Mach-E keeping a safe following distance at 70mph+ if the truck behind me is riding my ass 🙄.

We could apply the same logic to health, kill everyone with a genetic condition and we can wipe out those for the long run.

The issue is can we trust the people leading (Musk???) and who decides what is acceptable.
