anyone driven both, are they similar when it comes to torque, acceleration etc & wow factor, I drove in a Tesla Model 3 performance and it literally took my breath away, wondering of the GT Mach-E does the same? Also, my Premium Mach-E lease is coming to an end soon, thinking of going GT, wondering what incentives Ford may offer to keep me in a Ford lease for another 3yrs. :)

A 4 door sedan compared to a hatch isn't the right comparison, especially when Tesla has the Model Y performance available. The Model 3 performance will always be faster than both the CUV's. I think in this situation it all comes down to build quality and interior amenities. Tesla has more gimmicks that keep the car fresh with every update. Ford has no gimmicks that leave you to either like the drive or not.

BTW, Ford Leases are more favorable than Tesla Leases IMO

No interest in ever getting a Tesla. But there is a 0.4 sec difference between a M3 perf and a GT perf. There’s a 0.2 sec difference between GT perf and MY perf (GT is faster).

Can you clarify? Both are listed as 3.3 sec on their respective website.

I have a 23 GT and a 25 M3P. I prefer the Tesla it just has a nicer interior, more power, farther range and the software is just years ahead of what Ford has. Ford has updated a few things on the Mach e over the years but I'm not really sure about Ford's commitment to electric vehicles now that they've discontinued the lightning. I like the Mach e but I feel like now it's just an afterthought for ford.

I like to hear these comparisons. I drive my wife's 25 M3 RWD sometimes. Power and range are objectively better in the Tesla. Interior - subjective and I prefer the Mach-E but a Perf Tesla might be better but my wife likes her interior. I tend to agree on software that Tesla is better, but I find two software aspects more pleasant in the Mach-E:
  • streaming audio, I find the Mach-E with Android Auto much more pleasant and intuitive than the Tesla; I wish the Tesla would just stop/pause playing audio when the driver door opens, like Android Auto does in all cars.
  • maps, I find the regular Google Maps via Android Auto in the Mach-E much nicer especially now that it has the charging integration as well as the ability to see reports of and actively report cops, objects, stalled cars, lane closures, etc.

If looking for the best 1320, it will be the Tesla and the OP already knows that. There’s been plenty of reviews out on it. So if you like a sedan with a very uninspiring spartan interior, better range & charging network, nut job CEO, Tesla it is. If you want a slower crossover type vehicle that’s less spartan, but still missing amenities and better dealer type network, Ford it is.

Sean, I deleted a post that I put out there because I just can’t deal with the politics anymore. I’m 71 years old and I’m from the old school where you know Ford hated Chevy Chevy hated Ford you know and it was a fun thing like that it had nothing to do with the CEOs or anything you know hell if it had something to do with CEOs I wouldn’t even be shopping online at any store or going to any store so anyways my point. Yes, if you want a $308 a month lease for a Electric Mustang you’re getting the select standard battery no money down go for it but I haven’t seen the deal on the GT because that’s listed at 57,000. But I can tell you I just talked to Tesla and I can get a loaded out model Y with everything except the FSD at 2.9% 449 a month with $1000 down and that’s the premium with the extended battery yes it’s rear wheel drive but you can add an extra thousand and get the all-wheel-drive. To me I’d rather pay the thousand down and that monthly payment for what you get. It’s got nothing to do with the CEO but I’ve had the GT so I can talk. And I can’t talk about the Tesla as far as trade-in value, but I can say this my Mustang was eight months old with 8000 miles a dealer I’ve never dealt with wanted to offer me 16,000 for it. The Ford dealer offered me 26,000 for it. Carvana gave me 39 so that never made me happy right there.

The Tesla might be a slight bit faster but the Mach-e is so much better looking. The Tesla Model S is a great looking car but the rest look like stretched out Volkswagen Beetles IMHO.

Yeah, I said never one time when I said a Tesla would never keep up with my GT. That’s when I learned. I better look up the different models they make when I was side-by-side with a plaid. Something about 1050 hp in electric car just makes it awesomely fast. 😳

Politics? I just asked a simple question :) Regardless, thx 4 your response, I believe Tesla to be a better vehicle overall, but I just don't love the way they look, especially the interior which is just too sparse for me. Having said this, I will revisit closer to the end of my lease......I just loved the way the Tesla Model 3 Performance took off like a rocket when I test drove it, if the GT has a similar feel, it may just be the GT for me. Btw, I also have 2 Vinfast VF 8's, don't get me started on all the issues I've had, but at the price I got them, I'm still glad I did.

Model 3 performance is probably the only electric that would really weave through traffic noticeably more easily than the Mach E, while also being adept at maintaining high speeds and sustaining repeated launches

(the Taycan is a very wide car. And the Ioniq 5 N is also wider with worse turning radius)

Mach E GT 2024s and 2025s are no slouches with thermals either

As far as being more enjoyable, hard to say. You should test drive both. I have not driven the 3 performance yet myself. Traditionally the Mustang has been favored in terms of fun

Keep in mind that the Mach E like most electrics is sensitive to the state of charge on the battery on its launches; above 70% is when it will deploy the most power, though I rarely let my battery above 70; I am a freak interested in maximum battery lifespan that way (within reason, of course  )

New 3s also come with HW4 and can run the newest FSD 14+. Tesla is very close now

BlueCruise 1.5, currently only available on the 2025 Mach E, is second best in America, but like other non Tesla American ADAS it's primarily a lane centering drive assist
