Hi everyone, this is my first post on the forum. I have 2022 Mach E. I know this topic must have discussed before but I still couldn’t find an answer for it.

My question is can I use a Tesla Wall Connector (Non Universal Version) to charge my Mach E. I have the complementary Tesla adapter I received from Ford a while ago to use with the Tesla Wall Connector. Please any input will be appreciated.

I see. So what’s a good and reliable NACS to J1772 adapter out there? Or go with a Universal Tesla Wall Connector with adapter included?

I have the universal Tesla wall adapter and it works well. You press a button and then pull and it magneticly attaches the adapter to the handle.

Cool, I’ll probably go with the universal wall connector.

I looked at this and called Tesla. They said if I used the regular wall connector on my Ford and I had connection problems they would not help troubleshoot since it was not designed to work with other cars. “It would probably be ok but it is not specifically designed to work.”
I use the universal wall connector. Me for the MachE, wife for her ModelY.

I have a Gen 2 Tesla wall charger and use the 50A TeslaTap adapter. Works just fine.

Same. I have a Chargepoint EVSE with a NACS cable and use a TeslaTap adapter to charge my Mach-e. Works great.

Back when I got my car in 2021 I got a Lectron Tesla to J1772 adapter (40A rated adapter). Since then I bought a Tesla Mobile Connector because of the Ford Mobile Charger’s inability to run at 24A. That setup works great on the road, giving me L1 , plus L2 at 24A and 32A. ??

I’ll second the A2Z adapter. The price is much better than the Tesla Tap and it works fine with my Cgargepoint Flex, which also has a much better price than the Tesla universal wall charger.

  • TeslaTap
  • A2Z
  • Lectron
For the Mach E a 60A model provides a bit of extra safety but 50A is sufficient.
If you want to future proof against EVs like the Lightning that charge at 80A, get the 80A unit.

I have it too to charge my 2024 model and it works great. By any chance do you know how to change the amps that you chose on the initial installation of it. I think the electrician put it at a lower amperage for whatever reason. Maybe do you know of a way to confirm what is the amp setting on it right now. For the life of me I can't find it in the app and Google searches have not been helpful. Thanks.

Are you using the Tesla One app?
