So I've got a quick question for anyone prepared to chip in....

I've had this persistent DTC on my SOBDMC module for the last 5 months or so and it won't clear down like many of the other transient DTC's after FDRS updates.

It's a U2101:00:2F Control Module Config Incompatible - and I've Googled, I've searched Ford PTS and I can find no reason or cure.

I'm considering doing a PMI on the SOBDMC to see if that will clear it - but that seems like a bit of a nuclear option.

Any suggestions?

So just finished the doors and guess what? Same problem you have.

During the programming of each door module I got the usual litany of alerts and warnings to include Stop Safely Now etc. For each door module.

But when it was finished and I restarted I still had the Stop Safely Now symbol on the IPC.

So I selected the SOBDMC and told FDRS to run the self-tests and I think I've gotten it to go back to green.

But it was the exact error you got when you did yours, and it was a result of the programming if @Gimme_my_MME is interested. I did not have this CMDTC before starting the programming.

I will check the car on a drive tomorrow morning and if I get that error again I'll post an update.

Very interesting - as I mentioned I’ve had my DTC for quite a while now so mine wasn’t caused by today’s door module updates - but it may have surfaced after the last door update.

Anyway I took the advice of doing a PMI on the SOBDMC - was surprised how quickly it ran - but no joy on clearing that trouble code. Went for the next option of using FORSCAN to write back the As built config for that module as well… guess what - no change.

So at this point I don’t think it’s causing any issues to the running of the car or any systems so I’m just gonna let it sit there for now. Really interested to see what comes of any further investigations.

I did the door and headlight updates, and I don't have any unexpected DTCs after running self-tests to clear codes.

How do you check your as-built on Ford's site? I haven't done the HCM update yet but have done the headlight ramping mod. I would be curious to see if it shows it with the headlight ramping mod now or not, maybe that would answer our question?
Go to this site. It'll probably redirect you to put in your country. After doing that, go to this site again.

Put in your vin and scroll down to 734 and see if it matches what you did in Forscan.

So you might try what I did. With the car fully turned on, go back to the vehicle identification page then scroll down and select the naughty SOBDMC and then select test. When it shows up on the right side where you can test up to 5 modules (is it 5 or 6?) select on demand tests (whatever the top bullet selection is) and then at the bottom right side run the tests. It should end up coming back green when it's over. Mine did and the IPC stop safely now message and icon are gone. And the SOBDMC is back to "green" status.

I'm just a bit frustrated because I just bought a mongoose plus cable with power supply and now I'm stuck with FRDS license. I don't see before that it is not possible to bought 2 days session code in my country (France)...
Ford, are you serious ?!
My car is with an old APIM version and no OTA updates can be made.
Ford Mustang Mach-E The Complete DIY Guide to Updating Your Mach-E with FDRS 1680249287949

I will have to discuss/negociate with my dealer to update this. but don't have chance to update all the modules...
Or someone had possibility to buy a 2 days code for me and I paypal him ?

How long did those updates take to do? I got the headlight, PSCM, HVAC and the door modules to do. Going to see the dealer soon.

For someone with FDRS at home, like an hour. For the service department? 7-10 business days. ?

Well each door takes like a minute and a half. PSCM and HVAC each took 5 minutes.

I never got the PSCM on my 2021 Job 2. @scoopman did you get it?
Nope, no PSCM for me either. Just doors and headlights.

Anyone know if this update does the headlight ramp thing or do I still need to futz with forescan?

Thanks! I have NOT done the HCM update yet and my as-built data on that site shows the changes I made via FORScan with the headlight ramping up as active. So inconclusive if this HCM provides it.

Guess we need to find someone that hasn't done the forscan mod and see what their as-built on ford shows.

@scoopman, @Mike G, and so many I've missed Thank You.

I did 15 modules today from a standing start in ~3 hours. The dealer offered to do the HVAC update when I did the 20K checkup... but said that was 4-5 hours... I declined having them do it. Sheesh including set up and take down that couldn't have taken more than 15 minutes.

Software in these cars changes everything,

again, Thank You.
