IF anyone did the IPC update a few months ago, and hasn't had the blue bubble around the car on the IPC during Hands-on driving, getting the GWM/APIM update brings it back.
Nice! I did both but haven't driven the car since, happy to hear it was a bug and not intended.

I looked up my wi-fi router and it has three antennas in the left side, front, and right side. The back side was toward the car so I rotated the router 90 degrees. This increased the signal level and FDRS downloaded faster. Why? Because a SCCM update popped up today.

I downloaded the new version of FDRS. The update part went great, but I had problems running the self-test to clear the DTCs. FDRS complained that it did not have all the resources and to do a refresh. I finally got it to work and cleared the DTCs.

I got PowerUp 6.1.0 OTA and used FDRS to do PowerUp 6.2.0 (APIM). The forum says PowerUp 6.3.0 is a TCU update. I do see the SCCM as an update toward BC 1.3 as the car only has BC 1.0. Maybe the SCCM is skipped if the car has BC 1.2.
I checked the session logs for my '23 as well as my Lightning and to date there are no entries showing I updated the SCCM for either of them.

EDIT: And to add to that the software revision on my '23 model is the exact same rev I see on a 23.5 model I've been using as a reference. So I don't think the SCCM gets updated on '23 models with BC 1.2 already.

I was able to do the GWM and then APIM update. I still have the SCCM available, but no TCU update has appeared. I will wait until the TCU appears before doing the SCCM, then. So weird.
Same. I had GWM already from an OTA, but I did the APIM in FDRS last night. I had no TCU, so I stopped before installing the SCCM.
If anyone sees TCU come on for ‘21 models, please let us know.

There is a major rev update to FDRS that showed up this afternoon. R38.5.4. I downloaded and installed...and then the strangest thing...after I updated,.....the login page release version went back to showing the R37.4.7 download link as well as the older notes that went with it.

So weird. And the new notes were completely different and talked about being able to copy text or copy as "a story" to be able to paste in elsewhere (I assume on a service invoice). But that's gone now. Maybe it will come back tomorrow.

If anyone is doing FDRS updates Do GWM/APIM/TCU first as usual. Do NOT do the IPC or SCCM until you have completed all 3 of the GWM/APIM/TCU updates, even if you don't have all of those showing, do not move on until you get those 3 done.
What is the reasoning behind it ?

Software dependency. It's always best to get those three updated before doing anything else. It's been that way for a long time.

Speaking of which...my '23 model popped up in FDRS wanting a complete Powertrain update this morning. Since I have other things to do today I'm gonna let that slide for the weekend.

Oh, and FDRS was updated yet again to 38.5.5 now. They must have found something wrong and did a quick fix.

I didn't think "quick fix" was possible at Ford... ?

But powertrain imminent is a good thing, that's on the list but I hope they got the right versions this time.

I got the same updates and just applied them all as well. Still used the FDRS ver 38.5.4 with no issues.

Travis is going to be our canary in the coal mine this time. I'm always a bit leery of doing a powertrain update anytime I'm expecting a GWM, APIM or TCU update because of last January's dependency shenanigans.

I may wait till I see the TCU update show up before I do those powertrain updates. Just to make sure.

So is it just 2023 that did not get the TCU? Are they also the only ones that got the power train updates? If so maybe the power train updates are needed to trigger the TCU?

I have a 2022 that has the TCU update applied. I wonder if I have power train updates? I’ll post my VIN in the other thread.

My wife and I haven’t noticed any differences since installing all the updates... except she talked her away out of speeding ticket being in "Unbridled" mode! Great update option! LOL ?

So this morning those powertrain updates are showing up for '21-'22 models now (in FDRS) like they did for the '23 models late last week.

Nice.
Instead of getting another 2-day license right away, I'll probably wait until the IPMA or other BC1.3 critical path modules come on FDRS for 2021.
