I'll miss the Frunk button
You still have your phone with you, don't you? And I assume you still have FordPass on it? So there is no reason to miss the Frunk (or, in my case, Front Trunk) button when you need it.
BTW, how often do you use it? I think I only do when I show the car to people, and I think everyone who I can show it already saw it, so now I miss Frunk button ;)

MME opened but would not start, no backup code, alarm ended up going off. Ten embarrassing minutes later I was able to get the backup code screen.
This almost happened to me in my driveway last night around 9 PM. I would not have been very popular with my neighbors. I was able to type in my unlock code on the pillar before the alarm started, and that prevented it. Still never got to the password screen. I had to run in the house and get the key from my wife's purse.

I may be getting over my willingness to mess around with PAAK soon.

The frunk button is only available when PaaK is set up. My only options are lock, unlock, remote start and horn beep. In reality, though, I'm like you and I only ever used the frunk button to show it off to people.

I've since deleted PAAK off of my Pixel 6, as part of the strangeness of PAAK on this particular phone appears to be that the car doesn't realize half the time when I walk away with the phone. I left my car unlocked by mistake in a parking lot yesterday because I was distracted by my kiddo and didn't realize that the "walk away" lock didn't register my walking away. Silly me trying PAAK alone again.

So I'm just sticking to a FOB + keypad when I really want to use the frunk.

I had a lock-out event as well a couple of weeks ago. Horn beeping, back-up code not working (or I forgot it), etc. It finally reconnected with the phone after about 10 minutes.

My Wife keeps the original Fob in her Purse. She likes to use her IPhone for CarPlay but it was too flaky to use for a key. Both of us drive the car so it just made sense for us to obtain another Fob.

Other than those two things there's really not a benefit, which is in part why my eyes roll back every time I see another hate thread. It's just not that big of a deal people...
Oh, I've read them all! To be fair, this isn't so much a hatin' on PaaK thread as it is a fob appreciation thread. I'll certainly use PaaK again when it's functioning but for the time being, I don't have time to mess around with it.

Which is why I felt the need to make a PaaK appreciation thread ?

I encourage all pro-PaaK'ers to join in!

Wow, so it was my wrong assumption.

I will try to test it with my wife's phone by installing FP without PaaK, maybe it's another IOS vs Android thing.

But I would love PaaK to be able to move the car in and out of the garage (get lawnmower out and then pull back in when done mowing, for example) without having to run inside and grab a fob. I basically always have my phone in my pocket and sometimes you just need to move the car! lol
When my car’s in the garage, the fob sits in the cup holder. Just like the other cars in my garage.

No frunk button on my FP, but not a big deal. My fob is in a faraday bag in a hidden spot. Not going to get stranded. A couple more Paak meltdowns like yesterday the fob will rule once again.

You people with your fancy-schmancy frunk buttons (working or not)! ??

I currently have my key wrapped in 6 layers of aluminum foil (really wide roll). My key in its shiny new clothing is stuffed into my briefcase and I am using PaaK. It has failed to let me in the car only twice in the last week and a half. Both time it failed were in my driveway. ?‍♂?

That said, there are only 4 buttons available to me in the FP app: Unlock, start/stop, Lock, and horn/lights. No frunk button. ??

It is by design. The frunk, trunk, window up/down buttons work over Bluetooth only. Remote start, door lock/unlock, horn/flashing lights work over IP. I guess it is set up this way to ensure you are close by when using these features.

That is odd - as soon as you set up PaaK you should have windows up/down buttons added to the left of horn/lights, and frunk/trunk buttons added to the right (and yes the frunk button works for me :p).
