"GT-Line" ≠ GT
Precisely
GT line = 320hp
GT = 576Hp, adjustable suspension, brembo brakes like the MME and a bunch more

Buy what you want, I have driven a few Kia EV6s it's a find car. The suspension is considerably smoother than a MME or MY but the ev6 driving experience felt numb, personal preference I guess.

I posted pricing from Tesla's website keep in mind the MY qualifies for a $7500 tax credit.

The Korean E-GMP RWD EVs are sloooooooooow. Completely anemic - I've test driven the Ioniq SEL RWD and EV Wind RWD. I'd only buy one as secondary car for commuting. It would provide minimal joy in driving.

The Mach-E RWDs are very much like the Model 3 RWD or BMW i4 eDrive - peppy enough that you might not want the AWD.

The EV6 GT in GT mode has some serious acceleration that's near top of the mainstream EV class but it's not like "shove you back to your seat like a modern rollercoaster" in the Mach-E GT PE. I had an extended 20-30 minute test drive where I was allowed to drive on a twisty road and an open wide empty road.
That’s interesting that it doesn’t feel as fast as the GTPE. On paper it’s definitely faster.

This isn’t the first “faster” BEV that doesn’t feel faster though.

My guess is the explosive (and peaky) tq curve of the GTPE. 634 lb ft shows up fast…… then quickly disappears. Definitely gives that roller coaster feel.

The performance is awesome but the range is too poor for me to consider trading for it. There are a couple highways stretches of ~170 miles between EA stations that I regularly drive and there is no chance this car will make it in the winter. Probably not even in the summer unless you leave with 100% SoC. That fast charging is only helpful if you can reach the fast chargers.
Depends on your winter, but in general in the 40s and sane speeds it’s gonna go about 230 miles and a good deal further if you drive it right and ditch the stock tires. It’s underrated by the EPA, whereas my MME GT PE always indicates worse than EPA ratings for efficiency no matter how we drive it.

Yes, it’s faster. Significantly faster.

But the GT handles better, brakes better, looks way better, is larger and has more range.

If the KIA met or beat us in all the other things on that list, I would be tempted.

Instead it seems more like a model 3 performance competitor. In fact the 3 Performance actually does better on that list of things IMO.
Well, I can say for certainty that the Mach E GT (PE) does not handle better or brake better than the EV6 GT. Maybe the GT line. but It’s a truly different handling car., I know, I’ve owned all three. In reality the EV6 GT easily beats our MME GT PE efficiency wise but the smaller battery means it gets about the same range but I can really push the range on the EV6 GT if I have to by eco modes and coasting and paddle Regen. The adaptive suspension is actually useful on the EV6 and can be completely configured into custom modes. You can truly feel the suspension change between modes. It takes sharp high speed curves with less body roll and more control than our Mach E. The MME has better aesthetics but not by a landslide and it’s very dependent on color, so far 50% of people I’ve asked like my EV6 GT better but most didn’t like my black GT line better.

It's not.
It wasn’t 10 years ago but so far it’s on par with our MME GT PE and better in a number of respects. Out of the two, neither of my EV6s have spent time in the shop. Whereas our MME HAS needed various updates to function properly as it should have on day one and has dropped about half of its underbody air dam panels over the last year. My EV6s required zero updates for full proper function and don’t seem to have a ticking time bomb of a HVJB. Having said that my EV6 will probably never gain a function from an update. In many respects I’d much rather choose the car that is fully polished on day one. Especially in the GT trim, it’s in many ways a better driving and performing vehicle.,

I guess we will see but I highly doubt a car rated for 206 miles is going to go 230 especially on the highway.

The C&D article linked in the OP says they got 190mi on the highway.

You can say that, but the numbers prove otherwise.

How things “feel” and how things are with cars don’t always line up.

Kinda like how a few posts ago someone said the GTPE acceleration feels more brutal, but we know the EV6 GT is actually faster.

The GTPE puts down more G forces on the skidpad and stops faster than the EV6 GT…….. even if it doesn’t feel that way to you.

Openly that's good, but do what most of the MME GT owners do and put custom wheels and non low rolling resistance tires and that could easily be 150. During the winter maybe even 135 in the frozen tundra we call Minnesota

1. 40s is not winter temperatures, below freezing is.
2. Both the EV6 GT-Line AWD and Ioniq 5 AWD underperformed their EPA ratings in this 70 mph testing by >10%. The Ioniq 5 AWD w/ 20" wheels only managed 195 miles when rated at 256, and the EV6 GT has the same size wheels, so I do not believe your claim that it will get anywhere near 230. Feel free to post highway speed testing that proves me otherwise.

Comparing apples to apples, I did get to test drive a RWD MME Premium and RWD EV6 GT this weekend - both were at the same location - Ford was across the street from Kia...

EV6 had a more planted feel with a taut but nicely mannered suspension on rough roads while the MME had more bouncy feel.

EV6 handled the curves a lot tighter with less rear slip in sport mode than the MME in unbridled mode that tended to feel a bit tipsy.

Steering on the EV6 was way muted - almost disconnected.
MME steering had a bit more feel and feedback.

MME had the better seats in terms of fitting my body than the EV seats that felt thin like an economy airline seat.

Loved the HUD on the EV6 but hated the front trunk that can't hold anything.

Wife hated the EV6 look - said it looked like an Asian hatchback rice burner w/ mods...
She loves the MME looks coming from my Lightning...

Price wise, very similar, but the EV6 does not have a tax credit nor a decent lease credit under 45W ($2700).

Hyundai gives back the $7500 on their Ioniq5 as a Lease Bonus which I will test drive next weekend.

RWD MME premium is not an apples to apples comparison to a Kia EV6 GT.

MME Premium trim = Kia EV6 GT-line trim
MME GTPE trim = Kia EV6 GT trim

I think many people are confusing the GT-line and GT trim on the Kia these are very different.

Yes the Kia EV6 GT is very confusing indeed.
My salesperson had a hard time understanding I wanted to test drive a RWD GT.
Kept pointing to the AWD GT.

So my test drive was a GT-line RWD.

Thanks for the clarification.
