Trunk Protector keeps falling down

Does anyone else have the problem with their trunk protector constantly falling off one side or the other when opening or closing the trunk
I saw on Youtube one MME owner has a DIY fix using O rings but surely this is something Ford should be looking into and providing a fix

the protector is too flimsy, I ride with all windows open and thumps like mad (along with middle rear passenger shoulder harness). I pulled it off and tossed it in the closet when I got home from picking it up at the dealer.

My plan when I get mine was always to put that horrible thing away and tint the hell out of the back.

Very poorly designed. Also found that if you have the rear loaded tall, the cover may catch on the contents as the hatch closes. I have had to open the rear door and guide the leading edge over the contents as the hatch closes.

Many vehicles have a roller shade that inserts in notches on the side, then one unrolls it and slides it in on the other end.

I use rubber bands, but o-rings sound like a better solution.

roller shade would be way better. Or, internal 'louvers' to block sun but allow view out from interior.

o-ring/rubberbands sorta work, but I've had both the plastic pieces pop off if I put something too tall in and it catches on the shade wrong while closing

HA! I just posted about this today, I refuse to drive with the back windows down unless someone is back there.

As far as the cover goes, the o-rings work really well I was fortunate that I had a ton of them. However what works even better is window tint, then just ditch the thing. Get the benefit of people not being able to see your cargo, and then get the additional heat reduction benefit if you use some good tint. I personally can't image driving an EV without window film. It cuts down the time you have to blast your AC when you head out, and helps keep your car cool. Was 113 the other day and I had the car set to 72 and it sounded like the AC fan was running on 2.
