How do these TSBs work? If I go into a dealership, can they pull all of the TSBs for my car or do I have to provide them ids? Just in the last few days, Mach-Lee has posted several

Tell them your concern and list the TSB number. Or print off the PDF, highlight your issue, and hand it to the service manager. Some of them hate being told what to do, so good luck.

You may want to call first. I did; my service advisor checked with the parts department and was told they expect to have the supplies for this TSB on Feb 5. He'll check with them again on the 5th and once they have everything they need, he said he'd call back to schedule an appointment.

I sent over the TSB to my dealership. Parts are ordered coming in next week

Would love for a tech to tell me "I didn't hear any wind noise" and then not do the job.

@Mach-Lee Do you think this is a better fix than the caulking or shoving foam in there ourselves, etc.? Assuming the dealer follows the TSB properly, this seems to add a good amount more sealing?

The caulking is going to stop the wind from getting behind the mirror in the first place. The TSB addresses the wind after it gets behind the mirror. I think they’re going to be pretty equal in terms of effect, just stopping it from different places.

My car just happens to be at the dealer now for the dreaded "Stop Safely Now" issue and to replace all the brakes and rotors. Ford is covering the rotors but I have to pay for the pads- bullshit, but I have no choice. Anyway my car has been in numerous times for the excessive wind noise. They have not been able to fix it but hopefully this fix will work. Thanks for posting! I just sent the TSB over to my dealer.
I’m scheduled for next week!

The difference in labor cost between your caulking approach and what is details in the TSB is astounding. I mean I guess the TSB method should be more robust (if done properly), but dang that's a lot of stuff. And it's kinda crazy that they have techs printing templates and cutting stuff out.

I had exactly the same experience. It was one of the few disappointments going from a 2021 Premium to the 2022 Premium. I'll be following up with the dealer's service department today. I'm very happy to see this TSB!
Yeah I don't know which years and models have the issue. I know BOTH (Job 1 and 2) my 22 Premiums did but my 22 (Job 1) GTPE did not. I suspect the GT PE had the laminated side glass. I still own the 22 Job 2 and I still by habit adjust the windows when I hear the wind noise lol.

I briefly owned a 21 Premium Standard Range(found on lot as I got sick of waiting for my order) but I don't remember wind noise. I was so enamored by EVs back then so I probably didn't notice.

Not sure I trust the dealer tech to do this correctly. Would prefer a diy kit ?
Same.

It looks like a big surgery. Not sure how well they can fix it. It all depends on how precise the individual tech manually cuts the foam I guess. I have done the caulking myself and I have afterwards heard very little wind noise even at 90 plus mph. I’m not going to bother pursuing the TSB, and, besides I can guarantee they wouldn’t hear any noise at the first place if I bring the car in for it.

Here is my DIY result.

Do these expire? I've had wind noise issues, and I mentioned it at the 10,000 service, but they wanted to keep the car overnight to check and, no..

I've gotten used to it and can wait until the next service, which will probably be this summer.

Thought I heard some wind coming from the mirrors above a certain speed, but chalked it off as simply being a by product of not having a noisy engine to mask it out… definitely will be looking into this. Thanks!

I'll have to try the tape trick to see if I notice a difference. I do think I have this problem... there have been times when I've thought maybe I didn't close my door the whole way because it was so loud.

But, I am going to balance that against the cure - I do agree that this seems like something the dealership could screw up depending on who performs the work. Based on my brake cable experience, I want to avoid anything involving the dealer if possible.
