I've had this for my 2021 for at least 2 plus years. Works well but I do not leave it plugged in unless I charge my phone. I was getting 12v pop ups until I left it unplugged. Better to be safe than sorry.
Sent my 2025 in for warranty work over this. Seems wild that plugging in a USB-C cable can drain the battery, shouldn't these ports be off when the car is off anyways?

I just tested it, and they do stay on. Not hard to test at all since the LEDs around them stay on.
I believe that they turn off after about 15 minutes. This is just a guess because I didn't want to sit around and time it. But I have been in the car where I have turned it off, waiting for my wife and in that case the displays and the USB ports stay on for an extended period of time (somewhere between 15 and 30 minutes). But if you open the door the displays turn off right away, but not the USB ports (as indicated by the fact that the LEDs around them stay on).

Note I have not got the recall up that leaves the HVB on and charging the 12V battery yet, so it isn't the "12 minutes" that they have added for that.

I will say though, that even when I have had my phone charging sitting in the car with the displays on (because I have not opened a door) I have never got the battery is being discharged message. The only time I got that is one time when I left a OBD scanner plugged in.

This is what I would expect. If the wireless charger is working properly, and a phone isn't charging, then it should be drawing very low power until the USB port turns off. If one is getting a "drain on battery" message when they leave the wireless charger connected to the USB port, then I think they might have a defective wireless charger. They certainly should be asking "Why is this happening?"

If anyone is concerned about the time those USB ports are on, Ford has it set for 1000 seconds so about 16.6 minutes. That can be changed in FORScan if you want to make the time longer or shorter.

My dealership is basically putting the blame for the 12v warning entirely on this product specifically saying it keeps waking up the car for "some reason". I am not buying that's an acceptable answer given that the USB ports shouldn't cause degradation to the point of warning or error messages. I'm not confident I'll get that to go anywhere useful though.
