Can anyone enlighten me?

The SecuriAlert feature has been removed from the App and is being replaced, for new models, with Ford Secure (potentially very useful, subscription based, feature).

Why is this not available for earlier models? I’m thinking it only requires an OTA update?
Hiya - after some feedback from other users it appears FordSecure was only rolled out to some of the 2022 models…. so even the 2023 models don’t have it.

Ford’s strategy on its rollout is a bit strange, and it was designed to work in conjunction with SecuriAlert rather than to be a replacement.

Even with Ford Secure they have removed some of the functionality over the past months so it’s a pretty much now just a two step authentication tool for performing a master reset on the car (to stop thieves resetting the car so it can’t be tracked in FordPass)

I wouldn’t worry about it if i were you unless theft is a major concern.

My ford pass app has also decided to no longer show my EV driving stats and pretty sure a few other things have gone just can't remember what was on it

So has mine. Presumably due to the latest FP update. (4.29) that happened the other day. FP app is worse than useless with every update. Seem to take away more than it gives. Don't know why I have it taking up valuable space on my phone

Thanks for the answer @Wonky_Donkey

There seems to be a discrepancy though.

In another forum a Focus owner (a car nearly half the price of the MME) asked FMC what the FordSecure was in his app.

This was FMC’s response:

I come with great news! Ford Secure is offered on all Focus vehicles that have SYNC4 from the factory and in the UK, it’s a Thatcham S7 accredited tracking system. This feature is an additional subscription based service that we offer free for a year with the Focus model; it doesn't require any over the air software update and you can enable it today.

Stolen Vehicle Services provides a host of pre-theft alerts in the case that a thief tries to jack your vehicle up, force entry, detach the battery power or remove the vehicle antenna. These alerts trigger straight to your FordPass account. Should the worst happen, help is on hand, we have a dedicated stolen vehicle call centre that will handle your case and work with local law enforcement to track and recover your vehicle. We have real cases where vehicles have been recovered in the UK’

So, FMC trumpet how great this feature is for a Ford Focus but, by the looks of things, not for the MME.

In the meantime our insurance costs are going through the roof and a lot of insurers won’t touch the MME without a tracker! ?‍♂

Yet again Ford UK excel in giving way below acceptable levels of service for the premium cars, machE, 5.0 GT. They really are a complete shower of shit.

My complimentary blue oval pass still is inactive, the tow bar rear panel is flapping around, deep sleep mode a constant issue, .memory settings don't hold, Fuck me

just saw that it’s now a subscription service, after they removed the feature a while ago, would have at least expected to be grandfathered into this.

I don't normally like subscription services but this is something I would subscribe to. Especially if it would make insurance costs more palatable. Are you listening Ford? Hello, is any body there?

I noticed that driving stats had gone too, that was one of the few useful features! No notification of it, or why they have removed it at all!!

You should’ve had a message on the FordPass app to say the feature was being temporarily’ removed. It never worked for me anyway.
Most of the messages in my app are about features being removed!?

Thanks, but no, last message on Ford Pass app was telling me I'd been billed for Ionity on July 11th!
Sounds like typical Ford messaging!

At least they let the people who it wasn’t working for and weren’t able to use it know that it was being withdrawn!?

got a response from the FP community on whether Ford Secure will come to MY21 cars ...

There are certain hardware dependencies that we are required to meet to deploy Ford Secure (Stolen Vehicle Service) with Thatcham S7 accreditation; this hardware unfortunately didn't make it into Mach-e until MY22.5. We are working on solution for pre-MY22.5 that we hope should be available to you sometime soon; it won’t have Thatcham accreditation but will offer the same great alerting and tracking services to give you peace of mind

The subscription will come in at the same price as it does for current Mach-e customers at £5.99 per month after a 90 day free trial

UPDATE 2nd Aug
Just received the 3.5.4.2 OTA and now I can see Ford Secure as an option in subscriptions, plus its £4.99 pm guess the info I got from FP community was incorrect, jeeze how do these folks get jobs...
