got a response from the FP community on whether Ford Secure will come to MY21 cars ...

There are certain hardware dependencies that we are required to meet to deploy Ford Secure (Stolen Vehicle Service) with Thatcham S7 accreditation; this hardware unfortunately didn't make it into Mach-e until MY22.5. We are working on solution for pre-MY22.5 that we hope should be available to you sometime soon; it won’t have Thatcham accreditation but will offer the same great alerting and tracking services to give you peace of mind

The subscription will come in at the same price as it does for current Mach-e customers at £5.99 per month after a 90 day free trial

UPDATE 2nd Aug
Just received the 3.5.4.2 OTA and now I can see Ford Secure as an option in subscriptions, plus its £4.99 pm guess the info I got from FP community was incorrect, jeeze how do these folks get jobs...
So, part of the sales pitch from Ford when they launched the Mustang Mach E back in November 2019, was that the car would be capable of OTA updates which would improve the ownership experience throughout the cars lifetime. A number of us signed up to this bullshit, me included, and preordered and then went through the turmoil and delays finally getting our cars in 2021 and onwards. Some of us, I am referring to our friends in the US, were rewarded quite handsomely with free KW/h for the inconvience, some even getting this gesture twice. Not sure what, if anything, EU owners got but all we in the UK got was a pathetic set of B & O bluetooth headphones which never worked from day 1 in my case. In the intervening months (26) of ownership some of the (useful) things that the car would do have been removed, some are still supposedly on their way but with no idea of time scale and now we here that the things that have been removed will not be replaced because us early adopters, MY 21 owners, will NOT get a suitable substitute. How on earth can Ford justify their sales pitch statement. My car has definitely NOT improved. Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot, they have added some games for us to play while we are at a charging station and Alexa so that I can turn on my lights at home when I am on my way. But that only works if you have Alexa connected to smart switches at home, which I haven't. I pay for an Amazon music subscription which I can access in my car via Android Auto. Why would I pay for a Ford streaming subscription to do exactly the same. I have been a Ford customer for over 40 years. I don't think I will be getting another one from them.

Well someone clearly fell out of the wrong side of bed today ?

Joking aside I can totally empathise with how you feel as a Ford customer. The flow of accurate information from Ford has always been atrocious in my view. I learned early on that you come to the brand for the vehicle and not the customer service.

I’ve just become a massive cynic when anyone from the company says anything mildly technical because experience has proven time and time again that they are at best either ill informed or bullshitting - and yes that includes you FordPass Community website (I know you read these posts!)

Chin up @portlandg - I know you love the car as much as I do. Don’t let Ford’s crap communications ruin your experience. ?

That's what so annoying. I do love the car. It drives wonderfully and I am still having with it. The issue I have is that if this the Ford of the future then there won't be another Ford in my garage when I am done with my MME

When the mache was delayed, around the same time they were taking pre orders for the Hyundai ionic 5 and I nearly cancelled my mache pre-order and went for that. I'm glad I stuck with the mache, Ford have their issues but I think the mache is superior and don't like the way Hyundai have responded to charging issues.

Not sure I'd buy another Ford though.

There have been a slew of updates lately. They did increase the charge speed over 90%, so they would say they have delivered improvements.

I would hardly say the updates necessarily equate to improvements. Half of them seem to be fixing things that weren’t working as planned originally!?
And then there’s the growing number of features that have been removed from FordPass.
And they still can’t show the charging speed in the car…?

Just to clarify - the £4.99pm quoted price excludes VAT @ 20%- so if you are a normal human it will actually cost you £5.99 per month. ?

I got the same reply by as you @Edge2MME in the FP community (I think it was addressed to both of us), and the latest update, but it’s not showing in my subscriptions.

This looks like certain pre MY22.5 might have the required hardware? Unfortunately, mine would appear not to.

I’m wondering, if it’s not Thatcham approved, how much use it is for insurance purposes?

Probably just a way of FMC being able to rake more money in subscriptions!

I did a bit of digging on the benefits of an S7 tracker for insurance costs, and phoned Ford Insure to enquire if I was to get a tracker what effect would it have on insurance premiums..."None" hmmm, then tried some changes on Compare the market and results showed no difference with or without.

I do appreciate there might not be any cost benefit but a growing amount of insurance companies will not insure the Mach E without a tracker. Ergo, we are going to have to buy, or subscribe to one, anyway.

Seems totally pitiless when the solution could have been provided by FMC. ??

Is it specifically just this car and is there a reason for this?
I have never heard of companies refusing insurance unless you have a tracker in the car.

I’ve heard the tracker statement on the UK forum before, but not seen or experienced it myself.

I know AVIVA had a period at launch where they declined to insure my Mach-E - but this was due to a database issue on their side.

Subsequently I’ve been insured with them for the last two years with an annual premium of about Ā£340

It’s comments I’ve picked up from the Mach E forums.

Tends to be the GT at the moment. Very nervous about most models though.
