Hi all, first post after lurking for a month or so.

Had an hour's test drive at Evans Halshaw Preston today (ER RWD). I'm very impressed. Jotted a few thoughts down below covering the common questions which you might be interested in.

Performance was better than expected for the RWD, felt very lively and good. Suspension was firm, in a good way in my opinion as I prefer cars like that. It wasn't harsh though, just firm. Flat on turns, although I couldn't find a decent twisty A Road to really try it.

Sound insulation was very good, none of the wind noise complaints from the US cars with the dodgy panoramic roofs, this one was fitted flush to the windscreen and was very quiet.

The drivers display buzz mentioned by the Americans was there, but was incredibly quiet, none of my passengers could hear it and you had to have everything turned off to notice it. As soon as you were moving or even had the radio on volume 1 you couldn't hear it.

Interior seemed very well put together, amazed at the rear seat space. Driver's seat was comfortable, and materials felt very good. Better quality than our S550 Mustang or the Mk5 Mondeo I had prior. Most touch points feel very good, the seats feel good, the dash is nice and everything opens and closes well, but not all of the materials and some common Ford parts bin items like the stalks aren't up there with a true luxury car.

I really liked it!

I'm puzzled as the tour test drive cars are SR rwd versions.
Not all of them, I think there's two tour fleets visiting different dealers at the same time

Preston has two ER RWD in currently, the black one I drove, and a red one. They had a Carbonized Grey ER AWD inside the showroom to look at. I didn't recognise the registrations of any of them (and trust me, I've looked at pictures of every UK market car I can recently!), so it's a different set of tour cars to those seen down south at Hendy etc.

Does that explain this bit " From Antwerp it then takes an estimated 6 days to ship to the UK. " ?

What's happening in Belgium? a check on the panoramic roof issue in a facility that specialises in glass roofs?
Flushing is Ford's vehicle holding centre. All Ford cars that are built that haven't got a buyer are shipped to Flushing and kept 'on the shelf'. This means that any dealer can look at the inventory in Flushing and see if there is a car that meets a customers spec there before ordering a factory spec. UK Cars that are in Flushing are then shipped to Dagenham for onward despatch to dealers. I think that all unclaimed UK MME'S will be held there or even sent to Dagenham and held there. I don't think there will be any further work done on the cars. It will, however, be interesting to see how many miles are on the clocks.

Oh!! I've just had my vehicle activated in the Ford Pass. That;s a bit of luck. I guess the message was waiting for whomever was moving it or doing the QC checks. 18 miles on the clock and 99% charged. I can spy for the UK deliveries now. :) Tyres are a little out ...
