just got an update from Ford

IT'S ON ITS WAY
Dear Dhiren,

Not long to go now… We're excited to report we’ve built your Mustang Mach-E and it's heading your way.

We estimate it will be with your Ford Dealer in 10-14 weeks, and we’ll send you another update to let you know when it’s getting close.

Remember, you can review your order details at any time by logging into your Ford Account.
I got the same email today.....

As I've said before, I think building them all in Mexico was a bad decision.

The Europe destination cars would have had been better to build in Germany and would have benefitted from better QC. That would have also allowed the Mexico factory to focus on their local market.
Sadly economics would never have worked for building in Germany - or the US either... building as a global single source gives economies of scale that would be difficult to achieve by having multiple factories building the same vehicle. Having said that the build quality coming out of Mexico in recent years has been first rate - better than some legacy US plants....

Gutted. Yet another email from Hannah letting me know I’ve been pushed back another week to 26th June.

I asked my dealer for an update on Monday and guess what? No response whatsoever. Not even a “we will get back to you”. Tried Hannah this morning and got a response within 30 mins, even though I didn’t like it!

The utter contempt that Ford and its dealers are showing us is scandalous. Hooray for Hannah

moan over. Feel better now...

Congratulations @portlandg :)

If all things go well I may be collecting mine next week as well (Saturday 29th) - Of course now I've said it out loud I've probably cursed it ?
I echo the sentiments I made to @portlandg!

As another founder member and major contributor this is well deserved and I hope it happens for you next week!

As it is, I'm away in the Cotswolds next week, that probably means everyone, except me, will have theirs by the end of next week

Sounds like you're experiencing the same as me! Hopefully they are on the ship. What was your latest ETA?
I suspect we are all onboard the Grande New Jersey - my build date was April 20, shipped to port on April 27 and was COMPOUND IN on May 1. Although the ORDER STATUS on F12 hasn't changed since then my "tappsDateTime": changed to "2021-05-19T02:12:00.215Z" within the VIN number section on the remote setup webpage - and "lifeCycleMode": is now showing "TRANSPORT". Given our latest emails showing 10-14 weeks this ties in with an ANT arrival of June 10. Assuming 4-6 weeks to unload, QA and reload to FLUSHING and then on to DAG our delivery window of late July - mid August sounds right.... will be interesting when and if the ORDER STATUS updates at some point....

Looks like we are in a two horse race at the moment. It's a shame we can't get ours on the same day after we have seem to have been joined at the hip throughout but, sorry, I'm not delaying?

It's not the dealers, this is Ford's show right from when they decided to sell online instead of the trusted and well oiled dealer method.

Question to the forum. What are you all doing regards alarm/tracking ? Does anyone know how robust the MachEs alarm system is? Are you going to install an after market tracker? Also is the key fob scannable? I had my Mercedes GLC coupe stolen via keyfob scanning 4 years ago. Apologies if this has been asked/answered already. Thanks in advance.
I’m going to gaffer tape an Apple AirTag under a wheel arch ?

Not gonna lie, this irks me a little. Been waiting for my car since Jan 2020 but they can get a fleet to Kent for a PR stunt no problem ?
It's total rubbish ford can't even organise demo cars to dealers so that we can at least take a test drive on what we have bought. It's a total shambles

Further to my post just now about the mixup over the lease car I’ve ordered, I mentioned there that I’m having some doubts...
I managed to get a test drive a few weeks ago and I have to admit that I had a problem with the seat. I only drove the car for 40 minutes but came back with quite a backache.
This may just be down to not getting the adjustment right, though I tried as best I could in the time available, or perhaps I would adapt to it. But my impression was that the seat squab is too short for me (I’m 6’3”) and I couldn’t get any support under the backs of my legs because the electric adjustment doesn’t include a tilt function. Normally I’d tip the base of the seat to be higher at the front of the seat than the back but the seat in the Mach E seems completely flat and the available adjustments don’t make much if any difference to this. I’ve since read a thread elsewhere on this forum where others have complained about the same thing.
Really unsure what to do now and the test drive programme seems to have finished as far as I can see.
I’m just wondering if anyone in the North West who is about to take delivery of their car would do me an enormous favour and allow me to sit in the driver’s seat of their car to have another shot at getting comfortable. (Not looking to drive it!). I’d be very appreciative and it would really help my decision. I’m just worried about landing myself for 4 years with a car that may give me backache!
I did have a bit of the same issue and I'm only 5 11. Decided to tough it out as my Ford S max is the most comfortable car I've ever had.

My first post here, conscious I’m rather late to the party although I’ve been keeping up with this thread for a while. Excited for those of you who are about to take delivery of their cars!
I’ve opted to lease a black RWD ER (through a 3rd party leasing company) and placed my order in mid February this year. Apart from initially being given a tentative delivery estimate of early August, I was unable to obtain any timescale for build/delivery until this week, when I finally got hold of the Vista screenshot.
I was pretty dismayed to find that not only was the car not scheduled for production until the end of June, but it wasn’t expected to be with the dealer until mid October. But the icing on the cake was when I immediately noticed it was the wrong model (standard range instead of extended)!
My leasing broker has investigated this with the supplying dealer and it seems that mine is not an isolated problem - they have found another 5 customers in the same position and if, as they suspect, it’s a problem with Ford’s ordering process it may be more widespread than that.
Some shuffling around has evidently been going on since I raised the issue and Ford have now found me another car to match the spec I ordered, I’m guessing from a cancelled order. Delivery on this one has been brought forward to late September, though I still wonder whether it might have been sooner if my order had been correctly processed in February...
I am in any case having a few doubts about the car, mainly in relation to the seating position, and to save prolonging this post I’ll do a separate one on that subject
That is a rubbish situation to be in. Sorry to hear that. If you’re willing to shop around dealerships, I reckon you could find a cancelled order arriving sooner.
