I don't think it's as simple as it sounds re the phone call. I believe it is a basic credit file check to confirm you're preapproved.

They key in your address details, employer details, time at current address etc all the basics. And then a proper written application will be completed closer to delivery.

I was told a written application would come with 60 days time limit. After which it would have to be reapplied and a 2nd stamp on your credit file.

Finally completed the finance with the dealership. They called me this morning. Estimated delivery is 3rd April but he said they'll have a more definitve date after the Xmas break.

Did you sign any forms for your finance or was it just a phone call?

it was over the phone , like some of the others mentioned, take your details, employer, address, agree deposit amount, monthly payments, etc, do a quick credit check, and thats it. Closer to delivery they'll contact me take the deposit

Technically you are correct. However the only way that the approval I got today will be pulled is if a) my circumstances change ie lose my job or b) I go out and get shed loads of loans for different things. Neither of these ? are going to happen. Yes it does affect your file. Mine has just gone down by 16 points. If I have to get another search done and it costs me another 16 points I can live with that. I'll still be in the dark green.

Just got off the phone with my dealer. Finance approved. YIPPEE. He says his order bank has gone from 14 to 8. He has ordered a FE and has a delivery date in June. WTF. Glad I could only afford an ER RWD. Happy days. Wonder if Santa will bring any good news.

I thought the FE's were all sold out? They must have has loads of cancellations then.

So it looks like mine will be pushed another month.

Im seriously considering ordering the RWD ER from scratch. They are quoting 23-24 weeks at the moment. Save £10k as well.

I may keep both orders going and see which one gets produced first.

It's a F&%$ing disgrace that we have been kept in the dark like that. Rebecca has stopped answering me now as well. I think she is embarrassed at the shambles.

It could be supply chain based, or maybe something unexpected has cropped up since production started. I'm sure the guys in Mexico are working real hard in the background to get it sorted asap, and they are quoting long dates to cover themselves. 1st rule of Customer Services, under promise and over deliver (Say it will be 22 weeks but deliver in 16 weeks just to give some wiggle room in case something else f**ks up)

Hi Spencer, How far has your order gone? Have you clicked through to confirm it? I'm just wondering if that 20+ weeks you have been quoted is accurate and if you confirm eventually you might get a more definite and hopefully sooner timescale?

I've confirmed and surprised to see a cancel your order button available.

Highly doubt it, Twitter is full of very excited FE customers who's cars have just been shipped!

So I now have 2 orders. I've just ordered an RWD ER in Carbonised Grey. Delivery date 28th May, 7 days after my FE date. The race is on but if there is no change to my FE date (sooner) I will be taking the RWD ER and kept the £10k in my pocket not Ford's.

I suspect they will want to get all the orders that have been clicked on 'Order' by the 9th January deadline made and shipped. and they will all arrive on the same ship.

Fair enough - haven't been paying that close attention to all the socials to see that. Was trying to find a positive spin on a bad situation for you, but it could still be supply chain related.

I confirmed my order yesterday and the date on my documents says estimated delivery 27th May.

So I think that it just taking the current date and adding a set number of days to it. 150 or something. The same applies to your 2 orders I think.
