What is everyone else doing?

Thanks.
My current Eon fixed tarriff is 16p/kWh so I calculated I would need to do around 500+ miles for the (at the time) best Octopus rate of 5p/25p to break even on top of my existing usage. The issue was :

a) I'd also have to move my Gas tarriff as currently combined on a duel fuel rate, which then also adds to the overall affordability calculation.

but more critically...

b)they refused to even let me switch to them last month as a new customer!

My current tarriff expires in March so by then who knows what will be best. I've got a Ohmi charger installed however to prepare potentially for a smart charging tarriff if needed.

Well today has been a fruitful one in terms of my Mach-E’s snag list….

1) Got a call from my dealership. The replacement SYNC4 touchscreen that was ordered in August 2021 has finally arrived and is scheduled to be fitted next week. If all goes well next week I will have a fully working screen for the first time in 7½ months!

2) I finally got my SYNC4 APIM Module Update to work - so I’m now fully running Power-Up 1.7.1 (SYNC4 Version 21174 Revision 168)

3) While my car is booked in they wanted to do the Pano Roof Recall works - so I’ve ok’d that to happen.

At this rate I’ll have the snags sorted just as my 2022 order arrives. ?
Look on the bright side regarding the roof recall etc. You can be the guinea pig for the rest of us to see how a U.K. dealer handles this recall. :) If it fails then you will still have a new car to look forward to. I presume they've given you a firm trade in price whatever happens?

So, I set my ā€˜Departure Time’ last night…. It didn’t work.

I got in the car and it took quite a lot to get it to move. After a large ā€˜clunk’ it moved (pads sticking to discs). Then, as I drove off, there was a ā€˜thud’ which sounded like a flat tyre coming from the rear offside wheel.

Searched the forums to find this is a ā€˜Technical Service Bulletin’ (TSB) in the US. The brake pads need replacing.

Anyone else had either of these issues?

Do we have a contact to replace Hannah at Ford HQ?

Thanks in advance.
Dave, I have the brake pad issue.

I wrote to Hannah about the stuck 1.7.1 issue and she contacted the dealer to make an appointment. I have decided to leave it as going to Dagenham is a day off and it is not worth it for a small update. Hopefully, the rumoured update will sort out the issue.

Dave, I have the brake pad issue.
Update: Took mine into the dealers today along with a printed copy of the Technical Service Bulletin.

They’ve had a look and booked it in to replace all 4 brake discs and pads.

Doing it next Thursday along with the roof recall and software update. ????

Quick question peeps regarding BP Pulse charging.

It would appear that the charging costs for BP Pulse charging using the FordPass charging network card are no longer detailed on the FordPass app. It says that the cost is "unknown" and to check the charge station.

Has anyone recently used the FordPass charging network card on a BP Pulse station and can tell me what they were charged. My main reason for asking is I believe the costs that we are charged with the card a far more than the provider themselves charge. For example, FordPass charging card charge 50p/kwh for my local MER charge station. My MER app only charges me 30p/kwh.

I have just bought an electric van for my business and have got BP Pulse membership for 6 months thrown in and I am wondering if it is cheaper to pay the subscription when my free period expires rather than use FordPass.

Just had call from my dealer. Car was booked in for roof/windscreen/software recall tomorrow. Autoglass are to do the work but won't have a date available until February. I was thinking of cancelling anyway so happy to wait as had no issues with my car so far.
They should have had a bit of practice by then.

I am in a simialr position I did some cals a few weeks ago (Octopus was 5p/KWH 00:30 to 04:30 at that time) and it was £200-£300 better with Octopus. I am on a fixed tariff 19.??p / kWh Sainsburys (Eon). My conclusion was to get a smart meter installed and see how things develop.
Possibly. I will have to look to see if there is a hotel near customer site with chargers. I believe HMRC say that you can claim 45p per mile for EV cars too, is that right?

I’ll message you on Messenger - but for everyone else’s benefit the short answer is that Ford Blue Oval Charging costs for BP Pulse units are almost identical to a BP Pulse subscription rate.

Brilliant idea taking in a printed copy of the TSB! Mine goes in on Monday for the replacement 12v battery and software updates so I phoned today just to make sure everything was in place (as they are doing a 34 mile round trip collection/delivery plus giving me an auto demonstrator rather than a manual courtesy car) - I also mentioned I'd like them to check the TSB as my brake pads seem a bit sticky at times and are grabby, particularly when slowing down round a corner, also I want to make sure the software update they do is the CSP 21P22 one. But the reception person didn't seem to know what I was talking about!

So thanks to your idea, I'll print both off and leave on the passenger seat with a note!!!

I’ve given up with Pentagon Steve. I’ve changed my dealer to Bristol Street Motors in Wigan. Much more interested and far better service.

I gave up after I went in was the tailgate only closing once in every umpteen attempts and the service manager said ā€˜it’s the key’.

I questioned him he said the signal was not strong enough. I asked him what could be done and he told me to use the button on the tailgate!
