Hi all,

I can see the majority of you have all received your orders, not jealous at all! haha.

I've had no end of issues like most of you with regards to the delays, even had the dealer offer me a cancellation which would arrive earlier, which also ended up having a delay.

Basically, i ordered my MME March 21, but looks like it's only just been built 23rd December. It's currently sat in the Cuautitlan plant awaiting shipping.

My question to you guys is whether or not the "Next Departure" info found on whereismymme site is accurate to my specific vehicle. It seems to suggest the next ship leaving is on the 12th Feb, which seems odd, unless this is specifically saying the ship due to carry my vehicle is departing on this day?

Any advice as to the above and if anyone knows rough shipping time-frames from leaving Mexico, arriving at Antwerp and delivering to the dealer would be most appreciated.

To say the least, i'm getting more and more anxious for my vehicle to arrive so any insights would be of great help.

Thanks.

If you search on the above website between Veracruz and Antwerp it will tell you all scheduled vessels due and their expected journey times.
Hopefully things will progress for you, I ordered in Feb 2021 and haven’t yet received my vehicle. You’re not the only one haha!

Thanks for the info! I've not been given the ship name as yet, but i'm sure this tool will be invaluable once i know it's on its way! Glad (in a way) that i'm not the only one waiting for what seems an eternity, although from looking at the original posts on this thread it appears a year is not too bad, what with some people ordering in mid 2020 and only receiving their cars a few months ago.

Thanks for your advice Sammiec, fingers crossed your MME arrives sooner rather than later :)

EDIT: having looked it appears only the Grande Texas is leaving Veracruz on the date in question, looks like that'll be the ship with my vehicle. Thanks again.

Welcome back. Had my Mach-e for just over 2 months now and just love it. Longest journey so far was a round trip to the Lake district and back (400 mile) and off to Manchester this weekend (500 miles) and then the next biggy will Northern France in March (?). Brittany Ferries booking website now asks if you interested in EV charging, so hopefully they’ll install charge points on their ferries in the near future.

Driveshafts, thats not good at all. What happened and how many miles had you done when the problem?

The rear brake potential problem (as mentioned by other owners in previous posts) is the only issue I’ve had so. Pano roof recall….car booked in for 3 days for the 7th Feb. DAB stations still there and still on 1.6 software.
You’re braver than me going to France! I look forward to hear how you get on. I once got stranded out there in the middle of nowhere with a petrol car after passing two closed petrol stations I had plopped into my planner. I suppose a charger can’t really be closed… just broken, so I’ve probably got an irrational fear. Glad you’re enjoying the car though and clicking up the miles. How many are you on now?

TBH, the drive shaft issue was there from day 1, although you only heard the sound every so often on a very slow, full lock turn. Had me thinking it was just the dampers under pressure with the weight on a slow corner… sounded a bit springy like… but over time it became more frequent and on less than a full lock turn so I took it in. Others on the forum are getting the same issue at around 5000m it seems…let’s hope it doesn’t develop into another recall ?

Good to see this thread still going strong!

Far too many pages for me catch up on! How is everyone doing? For those who have taken delivery, happy, disappointed, indifferent?

I’ve just had my two front drive shafts replaced… but other than that, cars been a dream… still loving every drive.

I came back to the forum to see if anyone else has had all their DAB stations disappear, like mine… seems like a few people have! Hoping next update fixes it.

Other than that, what’s the gossip? What have I missed??
Mine was going really well until the autumn when I started getting "System stopped to save battery" on the big screen. Turned out to be 12v battery not holding/reaching required SOC. Went in last Monday for the replacement battery and software updates, and I've not seen it since - some of the updates keep failing, the dealer says the car is not safe to drive. Extremely frustrated.

I’ll certainly let you know. Hopefully at least 90% charged before boarding the Ferry at Portsmouth which will be more than enough to get us to our destination about 1 hour North of Le Mans. There is an Ionity station on the east side of Caen which is on route, so as much as I shouldn’t need a charge at that point I need to check it out for future reference. Might just stick the generator in the back of the car just in case ??. We have a ā€˜working day’ at the Chateau (Escape to the Chateau TV series), great deal we pay them to work there ?.

I didnt get it to work and the alarm went off on the ferry.
Thanks SashaLondon, but could you tell me what ā€˜you didn’t get to work’ i.e. what did you try? Were you told by Ford to try something? Anything else?

It’s going to develop into another recall. Mine just started doing this last week (just hitting 4K miles). I’ll ask the dealer to look at it when the car’s having the pano roof done, but it’s pretty clear what the fault is, based on the Axle Clunk thread here on the forum.

There is a switch off alarm motion sensor I think. I found it in the manual but when I got in the ferry I didn't have time to find it in the menu.

How do you folks precondition?
My charger app delivers electricity only from 2 am to 6 am and my departure time is set at 8 am.
I think my MachE doesn’t precondition because the app is set to deliver charge only in that 4 hour interval.

how do you all do it?

Yes, this is an issue. The car will only precondition when unplugged, or when plugged in and charging. It won't precondition when plugged in and not charging.

To get around this, I set my charger to turn on at 6:50 for ten minutes so the car will precondition in that window. Or, if I know I have sufficient charge, I don't plug it in.

Ok, however the motion sensor as it implies detects motion inside the car. If no person or animal is left inside the car and all windows are closed the motion sensor shouldn’t set the alarm off. It’s the inclination (tilt) sensor which typically sets off a car alarm during a ferry crossing. Maybe disabling the motion sensor in the ’Settings Menu’ also disables the inclination (tilt) sensor?

With my previous car (BMW 520D tourer) one press of the lock button on the fob would lock the car, a second press within 10 secs would disable the inclination (tilt) and the motion sensors. It would seem that Ford have forgotten that some people do take their car on ferries!

Yikes. Sorry to hear that. I thought all these 12v issues were sorted ages ago!?

I’ve used Ionity about 4 times now and they are always working… so you should be good!

So wait, are you working on the show or are you taking part in the show?? That’s a great show. The missus and I often get tempted to chuck it all in and ā€œescapeā€!

Sorry to hear this. It’s pretty bad form, isn’t it?
I wonder what’s causing it? Possibly the weight of the cars?
