I've been informed my car is in Dagenham. Now just waiting for it to be transported to Epsom (apparently they have a big delivery of Mach E's waiting to be delivered to them). Really excited now!
My car has currently been sitting at the port for 1 month and still isn’t due to be with me until mid Feb, can’t really understand why. It’s now a race on whether the car will arrive first or the anniversary date of when I ordered it!
Hopefully yours is more successful than mine

Oh, that doesn't fill me with confidence then. Yes I ordered mine in March, so we are past the 10 month mark.

One more thing... I learned today some more details regarding the upcoming windscreen recalls (not roof)

If your car has a pano roof - they will not attempt to remove and then put back the same windscreen. You will get a brand new windscreen in all cases.

This work will be outsourced to a company like Autoglass and will not be completed by the dealership (although the dealership will arrange everything for you) and it will be the same deal with free dealer pickups and courtesy cars etc.

Situation for non pano roof Mach-E's has not been confirmed.

I've got a Nextbase dashcam mount stuck professionally with the 3M pad that came with it so I hope they don't trash the mount getting it off the screen. :(

So @Smuddell - I don’t think your dealership is telling you lies, and I think my dealership may not be aware of the FDRS issue with v3.5.3. and are just persistently trying.

Side note - I have just checked the Ford Motorcraft website and it looks like FDRS has been updated to v3.5.6 this week which will hopefully fix these issues
.
My dealer did say there had been a firmware update on Wednesday because he thought great, it’ll work, now, but it didn’t! I can see he’s trying every day because of the Ford Pass notifications!

I also have the Nextbase 3M mount on my windscreen. While mine has been in for work this week I removed the camera & most of the mount just to be safe.

When you detach the camera from the magnetic dock you are left with the GPS Mount with the USB cable going into it. If you pull the USB cable out and then slide the dock fixture firmly to the left it will detach from the pad. Once that’s all been done it is much much easier to remove and relocate the pad.

I also got a spare 3M adhesive pad in my Nextbase box - just in case. Hopefully you have one too.

So fingers crossed that won’t mess stuff up for you.

Hmm curious…. So they are aware of the updated FDRS. My dealer has just called to say Big Red is all done and she’s on her way back. Apparently they had some outstanding DTC codes (fault error codes) that they needed to clear but that’s all been done.

I’ll connect mine to FDRS when I get it back and see what they’ve done and how they managed it.

PANO ROOF RECALL WORKS UPDATE:

So I've got the car back and I'm just putting together some before and after side by side photos for you all. Overall I'd give the work an 8/10.

Reason for not being 10/10 is a couple of new scuff marks on plastics and a few grubby fingerprints on the headliner. The fingerprints disappeared after a quick rub with a dry microfibre cloth. One of the scuffs will prob disappear with a wipe of rubbing alcohol.

There's a very strong whiff of sealant which will will disappear over the next few days I'm sure, but if you suffer from a breathing condition such as asthma you may want to ventilate the car a bit.

The joins where the headliner meets the plastics still look ok and while they are not as tight and rigid as they used to be, they are by no means sloppy. There's just a little bit of play in the headliner where there wasn't before, but I'm being super picky & critical here.

I'm now about to connect it up to FDRS to see what's been done on the software side and will report back in a couple of hours.

PANO ROOF RECALL & FDRS - UPDATE 2

Here's the promised before & after pics (click on the images to enlarge) Apologies as the before pics were done on a very frosty morning...

Front Driver's Pillar:
Mostly the same although not quite as tight and a little bit grubby with black fingerprints.
Ford Mustang Mach-E UK Customers BEFORE & AFTER - FRONT PILLAR

Rear roof line:
Looks pretty much the same - there's a little bit of play on the sides of the liner if you push against it when accessing from the boot. Grab handles don't feel as rigidly attached as before.

DRIVERS SUN VISOR:
Scuffs & Dirt

Ford Mustang Mach-E UK Customers DRIVERS SUN VISOR MARKS

DRIVERS DOOR PILLAR:
Dirt on headliner
Ford Mustang Mach-E UK Customers DOOR PILLAR DIRT

PASSENGER DOOR PILLAR:
Scuff in plastic
Ford Mustang Mach-E UK Customers PASSENGER DOOR SCUFF

And finally - the software updates....
All completed (you can ignore the two shown as one has been applied but not cleared down in FDRS yet, the other won’t install due to a bug)

Ford Mustang Mach-E UK Customers FDRS (Modules and software updates status)

So there you have it warts and all. Obviously the quality of work could vary from one dealership to another - but this wasn't a terrible job. As I said in my last post the dirty marks have been wiped off with little effort, just the scuff on the passenger door pillar that may take a bit more to remedy.

Glad you are up and running again. Just the windscreen to go. Have you had your centre display fixed yet?

Yes ? They did it yesterday along with the other works.

I have a whole new screen apparently. No way of telling until the sun starts to shine again to see if it’s solved it. But we have to trust them?

I also get the “calm screen” when I push and hold the volume knob. Can’t remember if that came as part of 1.7.1 or if that’s something else that’s slipped in under the radar due to new screen hardware. Have I got a Job1 car with a Job2 screen? Who knows :)

Interesting re your reference about the rear discs.

I never use OPD but my rear brakes usually stick on momentarily most mornings when I go out. The rear discs look savaged- Years ago when I used to be a tech, I would've replaced them, no question. This has occured in 1800 miles!.

I've reported it to my dealers and it's on the list of things to be done/looked at when I can get it booked in for the recalls.
Hi Tony,

That is interesting - I thought this would likely be OPD .... my front discs look perfect but the back sound like yours ..... really badly scarred. I turn off OPD every so often and brake hard when possible!

I did report it very early on i.e. July, to my dealer but they didn't seem worried - I'll try again now there's a TSB to back it up!

Cheers
David

My headliner and door A pillars are in black so I suppose scuff marks won't be so noticible (unless light coloured scuff marks of course). Had a call today that the parts have been ordered so will just have to wait and see.

Hi Wonky,

I think you’ll find the GWM was not applied.
I just tried it myself…twice…and it fails on the verify part number tests.

my screen now looks like your. ABS applied but doesn’t clear (known bug) but the GWM refuses to install…well it seems to install from the USB but FDRS fails when verifying.
