It doesn't have to. You can set the car to charge between 0030 to 0430 to charge during Octopus Go EV rate. I'm with them and that's what I intend to do.
That's precisely what I currently do with my Nissan Leaf

Thank you Steinar

I have found the line and it has error 404 in it! Which I think is no data on the database for it.

{"result":null,"error":{"errorCode":"404","messages":null,"dataErrors":[{"code":"100257","name":"Vin","value":"WF0etc","message":"No Record found"}],"attributes":{}}}
Try a few day later ...

I've ordered an AWD ER Mach-E in Infinite Blue.

I took the RWD, SR Mach-E for a test drive on Saturday and although it was a "nice car", it didn't blow me away.

As others have said, the ride was quite bouncy - almost nauseatingly so at times.

Whilst I know it was not an AWD car and so the acceleration was never going to be as fast - it really wasn't especially exhilarating when you mashed your foot down.

I liked one pedal driving - but it didn't work consistently. Twice I had to turn it off and on to get 1PD to engage when it seemed to have just stopped working.

The AWD ER Mach-E was there in the showroom to look at, but it wasn't available to test drive. That might just have made a difference if I had got to drive it - but I simply wasn't blown away by the car I drove and for not far off £60K for the one I ordered, I wanted to be blown away!

As I'm not in a rush to buy anything, I currently drive a Kia and have a Kia dealer 2 miles from my house, I'm going to wait for the EV6.

I have cancelled my Mach-E order so you can take me off the spreadsheet now.

Thanks for all the amazing help and advice you have all given on this forum and I look forward to seeing some Mach-Es on the road soon!

Kind Regards,

Bill

PS. One thing I did get confirmed is that PAAK will NOT be available in the UK - you'll get 2 key fobs instead. The guy who was showing me around the car in the showroom also said that in the UK you wouldn't be able to start the car with a pin code.

Thanks Bill

You're right if you're not blown away it's worth waiting for what else is coming by the end of the summer. Even in the SR RWD price range we will have the base Q4 e-tron and the recently introduced FWD polestar 2. I see Tesla have also cut the price for the Model 3.

At the AWD ER price range there is so much choice it really doesn't warrant going for a car you're not super happy with.

I see that you have been on here and ordered sometime ago. Sorry it did not blow you away and to be fair I am still on the fence and will make a decision when my car is here and I can test drive that. The EV6 is definitely my second choice at the moment and hope all works out for you ?

I just thought I would do some comparisons with the FordPass network charges and the brands that are part of it. These prices are taken from the Ford Pass app map (it is actually working) and BP Pulse website charges page.
It would seem that AC charges via the FordPass Newtork are 15p/kwh, 50KW DC are 21p/kwh and 150KW DC are 29p/kwh. BP Pulse subscription (7.85 p/m) are 12p, 15p and 27p. Free membership charges are 18p, 25p and 42p. Contactless/PAYG are 25p, 30p and 42p. It would seem to me that if you are planning on using public charging a lot then it might be cheaper to take out a BP Pulse subscription rather than using the FordPass charging network. For the odd now and then, which I will probably be doing, I think it is worth sticking with FordPass. Ionity charges I believe are 69p/kwh for nonmembers. FordPass network charges are 26p. The other newtwork showing on the FordPass network map is Osprey charging. Through the FordPass app charges are 46p/kw. Through Osprey charging the prices are 36p/kw standard rate, 31p/kw through the Osprey app and 25p/kw for subscription (£5 p/m)
In summary then, IMHO, if you are planning on using public fast (DC) charging regularly then the FordPass Network for Ionity is a good idea. But for the other networks in the FordPass network it is better to use the brands themselves. However, for only occasional use the FordPass network will probably work fine. I will also be signing up to Podpoint. My local Tesco's has free 7KW chargers, my local Aldi has free 22KW and they are prevalent throughout the country. Hope this helps.

Interesting... I think Ford have really over egged the Mustang, drives like a sports car stuff. Most people say it drives better than a Model Y. Coming from Land Rover Discovery's I doubt I will have the same view but they do have Air Suspension so we will see. You're certainly right if you are 100% sure you'd be crazy to take it but you might make some money if you have the £3k grant. :) EV6 is my second choice for sure.

I think he ordered a AWD ER so didn't qualify for the grant anyway.
