It shouldn't be too much of an issue. If it's too loud I'll just have to reverse into the garage. It's a bit more fiddly but at least the charge port will be on the right side. And please no comments "the charge port is on the left" ?
I'll have to find the thread where an American man is worried about reversing into his garage !

Hi @jongodfrey

This and your subsequent updates look really interesting!

I have now linked my VIN to my "Ford Account" and also downloaded the Ford Pass App and linked my VIN to this. Having done this, and with the new "dashboard" I feel I am getting somewhere and there might be a real car at the end of this ....... hopefully a RWD ER in Rapid Red ?

I was thinking of thinking of setting up a profile (either from the Ford Pass App or the Ford Dashboard) but wasn't sure whether this might cause any issues later down the line.

I noticed it says this goes via the Remote Vehicle Setup - would I need to "Activate" the car to enable this (assuming there is someone in Antwerp who might confirm this!) and here again do you think there might be any likelihood that this will cause subsequent issues?

I appreciate you may not be able to answer this but would appreciate your thoughts, if you have time ?

Kind regards
David
Hi David, So what you describe is exactly what I have done. You're right it might cause issues downstream. Interestingly I can't connect to my car for the past 17 hours so it might have gone or been put in to sleep mode.

I think the acceptance of the Activation is pure chance. A driver moving the car sees it on the screen and allows it.

There's a chance that registering with Vodafone in-car wifi might cause an issue as I did that at the same time.

I figure worst case is the Dealer will do a hard reset of the car in the PDI anyway and we will just reactivate after that, but that's just a guess.

all the best

I think it will sound loud in the summer at 6am in a heat wave when everyone has their windows open.
So does a rattly old diesel but I bet your neighbours drive them to work still. ?‍♂

It's a safety feature and one all cars will have as electric vehicles take hold. People will get used to it.

That video does make me really happy with my choice of colour and I do not think the alloys look too bad at all on black car ?
[/QUOTEthats
that’s my main issues though. for a £50k car, I don’t want alloys that look not too bad. I want bad ass alloys that give off the mustang muscle look. Having seen it in the flesh, I think the 18” alloys look to small on such a big car. Maybe it’s because they are dark grey which doesn’t help. But I’ll change the alloys out when I eventually get the car so not a showstopper. If others here like them then great, save yourself a grand replacing them ??

It seems looking at the time line that if the Car is not used for 10 days then it will go into sleep mode. My Car was activated at 05.04 on the 13th April and went to Sleep Mode 19 hours ago so probably 10 days from last time it was started.

One thing I have noticed with all your reports on your test drives, none has mentioned whether the cars that you have driven emit a beeping sound when in reverse like the US versions seem to do. I hope not as it could get very annoying for my neighbours when I am reversing out of my garage at 0600
Mine did.

Exactly... I’d happily take a bit of short beeping over a rumbling engine.

Hi Jon,

Many thanks for your thoughts on this - I think I'll leave things as they stand for now!

I hope your car is enjoying it's nap ?

Hopefully you'll be able to wake it up in the UK fairly soon ?

Kind regards
David

I dropped off my personal MME plates to the dealer last week in anticipation - and he looked at me as if I’d just deposited a paper bag full of cat poo.

Despite mine technically being about 2 weeks away there was no interest in booking appointments to do finance or anything.

Gotta love the dealer network!

What a load of ? My vista has been updated to Compuond In ANT CUST which presumably means it has done all its checks but delivery date has gone back another week to 5 June. Not what I wanted to hear. The staff canteen calender will need replacing soon with all the dart holes in it.
