Is anyone else on here using Ford Lease? I am just wondering if they want deposit etc before it leaves Dagenham. That may be why my business partners has still sat in Dagenham since last friday. Mine is still in the U-Bend!!!
Hi @Coolcatshaft

I wouldn't have thought they would want a deposit before getting the car to the dealer.

That said I have never leased a car before - when I placed the order I ticked the "cash" option and had planned to get a bank loan, but having looked at Ford Lease, for my situation, that seemed a good deal.

The dealer said we could sort all this out when they got the car, before delivery to me - so I assume you should be fine.

What's your latest ETA?

I had an optimistic update the other day saying it should be shipped to Dagenham this week, and will be with the dealer by end of next week. So am busy selling my current car via "Motorway" ?

Cheers
David

For anyone interested:

My car was on the Grande Halifax that docked 18th April in Antwerp.

I have just been informed the car is leaving the second stage of quality control checks that are completed on 3rd June.

Also, the car is due to be with my dealer on the 5th July.

I have also been advised these are guide estimates.

I did ask if there is an 'off the record' improvement on these time scales but no answer to that yet.

I would like to know what these quality control checks are that are so important and take so long.

they have to be close to your keys. they use expensive equipment to do this.

this is organised crime. planned and often stolen to order.

outside cameras are as you can see not much use.

a steering wheel lock could have been.

putting your keys in a tin box when you go to bed would be sufficient. go to a supermarket and get one of those small coffee tins etc and it's sorted.
Thats what I do, I put the keys in a tin box over night

So with the help of Hannah yet again.
My car is now in the UK with a dealership date of the 30th May.
This date is only a guide as there is a bit of a bottleneck at Dagenham regarding the amount of cars going through customs. Getting nearer.

@portlandg

Congrats on your delivery date.

What date had you been led to believe to follow given to you from Ford Electrify (Hannah).

I want to gauge if they are improving.

Hi David,

My latest ETA as per Vista is W/E 5th June. Hannah told me two days ago that my car is still in Flushing but she expects it to be at the dealers on 1st June.

My tappsDateTime updated yesterday afternoon and then again just after 9 this morning so I get the feeling my car has arrived in Dagenham this morning.

I haven't had any dates from Hannah. Along with vista I have a couple of contacts that have been feeding me snippets. The final touch came from a friend who delivers Fords out of Southampton who gave me this morning's snippet

Best to use a wheel clamp :)
Do people still use those? I thought they went out in the 80s.

In terms of CCTV, that is ideal for capturing accidents for insurance claims etc etc. A very overlooked subject in my eyes and they should be recording 24/7.

Ah, got you. Be nice just to know how 'belt and braces' their delivery dates are. Mine will be 1.5 month adrift now. I should be driving it today. ?
