Question to the forum. What are you all doing regards alarm/tracking ? Does anyone know how robust the MachEs alarm system is? Are you going to install an after market tracker? Also is the key fob scannable? I had my Mercedes GLC coupe stolen via keyfob scanning 4 years ago. Apologies if this has been asked/answered already. Thanks in advance.

Apparently there is a find my car function. Whether that will be acceptable to insurance companies as a tracker I'm yet to find out. The key fob is supposed to have a motion sensor built in. After it has been stationary for a short time it stops sending a signal so should be safe

YIPPEE. Just had a phone call. My car should be delivered to my dealer today. ???
Thats amazing Grahame! It only arrived in Dagenham on wednesday so for them to get it out to you so quickly means they are finally pulling their finger out and making it happen!

Is anyone else on here using Ford Lease? I am just wondering if they want deposit etc before it leaves Dagenham. That may be why my business partners has still sat in Dagenham since last friday. Mine is still in the U-Bend!!!

I have a vodafone V tracker plugged into the Kuga usb socket which was very reliable. That cost nothing.

The only thing I’m planning on doing is getting a faraday pouch for the keys just to be on the safe side to stop them being scanned.
Other than that I’ll just stay up every night admiring my car through the window so that should be enough!?

You should be fine as mentioned above, Ford have the keys now go to sleep until they detect motion. This was to stop the scanning thieving scum.

I thought of a obd2 mounted one. Only problem is that if someone nicks the car they can dispose of it

Yes, but this is Ford we’re talking about….
The key might end up being the 51st check that was needed!?
