Very happy to read that some of you 'veterans' are finally receiving delivery in the month of May. Great news. I really hope the car meets and surpasses your expectations. I look forward to reading all your first impressions next week.

For my part, after complaining a lot about the service from the dealership, I now want to say something positive. Having cancelled my FE order on Wednesday I received my deposit back today. If only they had been so effective with communications through the order process I might not have cancelled after all.

Not gonna lie, this irks me a little. Been waiting for my car since Jan 2020 but they can get a fleet to Kent for a PR stunt no problem ?
I agree, shockingly inappropriate.
but marketting will always get priority it appears.

I suspect we are all onboard the Grande New Jersey - my build date was April 20, shipped to port on April 27 and was COMPOUND IN on May 1. Although the ORDER STATUS on F12 hasn't changed since then my "tappsDateTime": changed to "2021-05-19T02:12:00.215Z" within the VIN number section on the remote setup webpage - and "lifeCycleMode": is now showing "TRANSPORT". Given our latest emails showing 10-14 weeks this ties in with an ANT arrival of June 10. Assuming 4-6 weeks to unload, QA and reload to FLUSHING and then on to DAG our delivery window of late July - mid August sounds right.... will be interesting when and if the ORDER STATUS updates at some point....
Yes definitely makes sense, just find it bemusing that no one can give us this information when asked. Fingers crossed we are on the way!

Actually not the worst idea. And I have an unused /unopened airtag on hand.
The gaffer tape and wheel arch is probably not the best place, but I think I’ll be getting one and hiding somewhere, like the Donkey is planning.

It's not the dealers, this is Ford's show right from when they decided to sell online instead of the trusted and well oiled dealer method.
For me, my dealer has shown absolutely no interest in my order. All the information I’ve obtained has been from the concierge.

My dealer hasn’t a clue and couldn’t care less is the impression I get. They won’t even provide me with a confirmation of my order despite having my deposit since December.

They don’t volunteer any information. I have to ask for everything.

The sooner I can get my car and forget about Evans Halshaw the better!

Lots of (justified) flack for poor dealer customer service, but should we be surprised?

Dealers used to buy their cars from Ford at “wholesale” prices, and then had almost full control of how many cars they sold and at what price. The new Ford operating model is to sell to customers direct on the web and so the dealer becomes their “delivery agent” for which they get a nominal fee.

I know it’s not as simple as that, there’s servicing, finance etc, but the core dealer sales model has been fundamentally taken away. Maybe this has reduced motivation for good customer service?

Absolutely, and especially with electric cars, servicing isn't even a major motivator as it is easy and not much to do and therefore not much profit there either.

It’s been real folks...

EDIT: Okay, even just joking about this made me shudder, so I have to come clean. I’ve only cancelled my First Edition order and reverted to my original AWD ER in black. My FE order got pushed back again, with delivery now expected end of August... don’t even think it’s left Mexico yet... at the sam time my original order moved forward a month from July to June, so I decided that waiting an extra 2 months for what is essentially the same car was just not worth it. Waiting 2 months for what would amount to bragging rights seemed silly. I am now very excited at the prospect of driving away in my MME in less than a month!! ?
