Is there any comparison on the driving modes and their efficiency if all variables are equal?

I did a reset and I’m regularly getting 330 - 340 RWD ER now.

MME RR ER RWD ?

Hi @SashaLondon

Yes, as @SJ_Okay said, this is all quite confusing and frustrating - both the "failed updates" and the inconsistency between the FordPass App and the Car itself ?

I have had an OTA fail a large number of times over the last couple of weeks or so - I think a number of us have had a similar experience - and have double checked everything my end as far as I can and things look fine!

I raised this with the Mach-E Support Team last Monday, and they said they would escalate with the Technical Team - I am waiting for their response (I've been away for a few days and noticed a few missed calls on my landline on Friday, which I suspect may be them ?)

I will post any update on the forum as soon as I hear anything ?

Hopefully they will address this with the appropriate priority - if they do not, then any "significant" or "urgent" updates (such as the eCall update) would fail and presumably require us all to go to the dealers to apply the updates ?

In the absence of any resolution, I will post this to the Ford account on this forum.

Hope you are enjoying your new car ..... and after a very long wait your patience has been rewarded ?

Cheers
David
Hi all,

Just a brief update on the "Failed OTA" issue

I spoke with the MME Customer Support Team yesterday, and the basic outcome was that they had escalated this issue last week with the Technical Team (not sure whether they are in the UK or US).

Sadly, it appears that the Technical Team do not respond to the MME Customer Support Team, but they would send out a "new" update in due course ?

I did not have a lot of confidence in this, and this was proved to be correct in that I have just had another "Update Failed - Will Retry As Soon as Possible" notification in FordPass.

This has, in my case, been going on for two weeks now and I plan to post this to the Ford account later tomorrow, to see if we can get a resolution to the issue.

Before doing so, I just thought I'd check to see (a) how many of us still have issues with OTA updates, and (b) if anyone has had success with the recent update (i.e. in the last week) ?

If they don't sort this out, we will all have to go to our dealers for updates ?

Thanks,
David

I don’t think I’ve had any successful updates.
I say this because I’ve only had failed notifications. Nothing to say update has been successful. Had my Mach-E for a month now.

I'm guessing here but I would say that OTA updates are happening monthly during the first week. I took delivery of my car on 26th May and received an OTA update on 2 June which was successful. I took my car to my dealer on 5th July for the ecall update and then got an OTA update on the 6th. This too was successful. I am anticipating another next week. We will see.

There seems to be a lot of posts recently regarding the range estimate given by the car. Some of you seem to be disappointed with the readings you are getting.
As @Wonky_Donkey said in a reply to one post, the figure the car comes up with is a GUESTIMATE. It is no different to the range estimate you had in your ICE vehicle. How many of you complained at that. Not many I would imagine. Me, I ignored it. There are many real world factors that will affect your range, whether it be in your MME or an ICE vehicle. When I was driving my Kuga, 2 things mattered to me. 1 was where the needle was on the fuel gauge and 2 what my average mpg was. In my MME it is no different. I pay more attention to % left and my miles/kwh gauge. My RWD ER WLTP figure is 379 ( or is 389), I can't remember, but I knew I was NEVER going to achieve that with my driving style. I always said that if I got between 320 - 350 I would be happy, but then I would never go to 'empty' so I will probably never find out. Anyway, having now done 2000 miles in her I have been averaging 4.1 miles/kwh, which, with 88kw usuable gives me a 'range' of 360 miles. Jobs a good one. Very happy with that. Basically, what I am saying, is don't judge your range by what the car estimates, believe the miles/kwh on the trip screens. Just my opinion.

Never had a successful OTA, I think the only people who got them were those you picked up their cars before the eCall Hold like Tone and Grahame

Just as a side note. At current diesel price of £1.35 per litre those 2000 miles would have cost me about £320. The majority of my charging has been done at home at 5p/kw with some done at a rapid charger at roughly say 30p/kw. Working on an average price of, say, 15p/kw that means that in my MME the same mileage has cost me, ROUGHLY, £75. With figures like that, as long as I can stick to 3.8 - 4.4 miles/kwh I will be a happy camper.

Yeah. I’ve had a few messages saying updates have been unsuccessful.
Last email was yesterday at 17.12. Car seems to be picking up wifi ok although says connection is ‘fair’.
Have been wondering if investing in a wifi booster/extender would help but if others are having the same problem then it looks like the issue may be elsewhere ?‍♂

Slightly random but has anyone seen a Mustang branded "ash tray" bin (I guess you would call them?)

Ive got an Audi one from an old car and it fits in the front cup holder really well and its great for keeping some change etc in but would love a Mustang one?

Thanks David!

I've also only had failed updates - last one was 23 July. Nothing since then!
