Morning all. Just wondering if anyone else is having this issue.
My car received an OTA update on Friday morning, 2.1.0, and ever since that update my car will NOT find/connect to any wifi signals. When I check to make sure the connectivity button is active I get a circle of dots with a message saying please wait and then the screen reverts to the main menu. I know there are wifi signals near me, I am about 18 inches away from my router, so I know it isn't a signal issue. Seems to me like it is the usual Ford software update issue. Supposed to make things better and give us new features but also removes functions we need.
Not even a sniff of an OTA. I am stuck on 1.7.1 though.

Hello old friend :)

Just checked mine which was also updated to 2.1.0 last week. The Wi-Fi section is all still there and operational as expected. If I were you I'd try a SYNC reset using the steering wheel controls (VOL down & Next Track button for 10 seconds) just to give it a nudge.

It'll be interesting to see what my car ends up on when I get it back. It's at the dealer having the pano roof done (and CV joint investigated) and they're going to be applying whatever updates they have available, as per the email from Ford.

I know the OTAs are different from what the dealers have, but hopefully this clears whatever was blocking it from going any further then 1.6.

Side note - I've got a Fiesta as a loaner and it's interesting to see where that's gone since I last owned one. It still handles superbly and I love the growl of the 3 cylinder engine, but good God what have they done to the interior? It's somehow worse/cheaper than the '09 plate Fiesta that I used to own.

Hi all, standard range awd owners here north of Glasgow. 3500 ish miles in, 2.7m/kWh so far - which seems lower than expected. We are pretty happy wi the car overall, are struggling to get the windscreen and any necessary software updates done anytime soon - our main dealer in Arnold Clark in Glasgow who don’t seem that clued up on the vehicle. We don’t know which version of the control software we’re on - we’ve been told it should have some positive effect on the range displayed on the dash, which always seems very low. Any useful information would be much appreciated, thanks
chiming in very late. i have an AWD ER with about the same mileage. 2.7m/kwh is very good in the current temps we have, imo.

i saw three MachEs in my town in just the last week ... after months of not seeing one.

i have to admit, losing the 'uniqueness' is a bit of a downer :)

Anyone else waiting on a 2022 model?

I got an email today telling me that my order has been scheduled for build …. which I guess means a batch of UK RHD models is finally being assembled in the next few weeks.

Thumbs up to Ford UK - your comms are infinitely better than they were last year!

Took my Mach E into the dealer today for the pano roof recall and software updates - will report back with any news (it's at TrustFord Dagenham). I can see they put my car on charge, so hopefully I'll be heading home with a fuller battery at the very least! I'm presuming they need a certain % charge to do the updates (mine was around 40% on arrival).

some performance data and a q.

off late, my GOM shows 200 miles whenever i charge to 75%. highly encouraging, given our recent temperatures.

my driving mode is Active (i find this is much more comfortable than Whisper) and my car has done approx 3500 miles. i usually set only steering and seat heat on.

on short trips of 5-10 miles i easily get above 3.5 miles/kwh and at times i have got 6 mls/kwh. for round trips of 100 miles, i get anywhere from 2.7 to 3.

i don't set departure times. i don't have set times in the WFH world.

now to the q:

the one issue i face is the battery gets depleted very quickly. for instance:

last Saturday. 6 am, start with 75% and GOM of 200 miles.

i did 4 trips that day, totalling 28 miles. at no point was the car plugged in but each time i started the car, the charge dipped by 5-10 kwh instantly as soon i fired it up. again, only with seat and steering heating and no preconditioning.

is this to be expected?

Had the temperature dropped? Mines done that when the start of the day is warmer than later on.

For anyone that’s had the pano roof recall, did your dealer contact you or did you contact the dealer to arrange?

Mine went in on 29th December, 12 days later they decided they couldn’t do it and asked me to pick the car up. They rebooked it for 14th Feb after they had done their demo car as a test.

Today they called me to cancel the appointment and said they are under instructions from Ford not to undertake the FSA based on a customers instruction, but to wait until advised to do so by Ford. Sounds like they are just a shitty dealer trying to get out of the job.

Yeah I called mine up directly to book it in - dealership had not contacted me directly first (so I was acting on the mass emails we got, and the notification in the app).

They’re doing the job at the moment - fingers crossed!!
