MME RR ER RWD ?
Country flag
Hi David,

I had all my work done by Bristol Street Motors, Wigan. Everything has gone to plan with great service.

1st visit - They checked my discs and pads and found them to be faulty. They were badly scorched;

2nd visit - They replaced all my discs and pads free of charge after agreeing the work with Ford’s;

3rd visit - They resealed the pano roof, did the software updates and checked the windscreen. They confirmed mine had the faulty windscreen and said it would need replacing;

4th visit - They liaised with the glass company who fitted a new windscreen.

I can’t fault any of their work. I’ve had a Kuga PHEV each time and regular updates.

Hope You get on OK getting yours sorted. ??
Hi @davkd

Many thanks for your reply - really pleased you had such a positive eperience ?

Out of interest, were all your pads/disks faulty, or just the rear ones ? My front ones look almost 100% OK, it's just the rear (especially offside) which look badly scored.

I've sent images to my dealer (who like yours have been really good so far!) and am waiting on their reply. I was wondering whether to contact Ford myself?

Cheers
David

Update 30th April….

So my last update was quite critical - but an honest representation of my user experience…. roll on a couple of weeks and it’s the Bank Holiday weekend.

I’m having to do a few long trips back and forth this weekend, plus going to lots of house viewings as we’ve just sold our house. Not sure what’s going on - but typical situation - need a rapid charge and almost every DC Rapid charger (including the IONITY ones) in the city seems to be out of action. So after saying I wouldn’t be going back anytime soon I find myself back at Gridserve.

Pleased to report a much better experience that my first two trips. Plentiful supply of chargers that all appeared to be working, and the staff in the charging area were pro-active in making sure every car that drew in and parked up was shown how everything worked.

Inside still felt a little void of atmosphere, so I just grabbed a bottled drink from M&S and went back down to the car to wait while it charged.

So in summary - getting better - now classed as a reliable backup if Ultra Rapid charging is required and other outlets are unavailable - still expensive. They may win me over eventually ?
Hi @Wonky_Donkey

Thanks for the update - sounds much better ?

Just out of interest (and not a leading question I hope!) but are you staying in the area or moving further afield?

Best of luck with the viewings ?
David

Hi David,

I don’t know about the discs / pads and how many were faulty.

It started for me after I’d cleaned the car and not moved it for a while. The pads were stuck to the discs.

It took some force on the accelerator to get the car to budge.

Once it moved there was a grating sound and this carried on for days.

When I took it in for them to look at it they said they would replace them all. ??

Just to add my 2p's worth to the disc/pads thing.

Early on in my ownership of the car the rear discs were terrible. They developed a corrugated appearance and my dealer said they'd monitor them and if necessary they'd replace them.

This was a few months ago. I had a close look at them last week while checking tyre pressures and To be honest they've improved greatly. They're nearly completely flat and smooth now and look fine.

I wonder if the problem is that rear brakes do little work and they need longer to bed in . Also I've done a few long (for me) journeys of 130 miles on fast roads recently which I'm sure has helped.

Hi @Wonky_Donkey

Staying in the vicinity of Norwich - just looking to move to a property with …

1) a driveway so I can actually have a home charger
2) a bigger garden so I can enjoy my work from home life a bit more
3) room to create a proper WFH space for me and the other half

The original intention was that we would to move house well before the Mach-E arrived. I never dreamed the poor thing would would have to live on the street all this time bless her.

Same here. Was on the same ship but no exact date for delivery but email from Ford on 9th April below.

Yeah it all seems a little poor on Fords part to be honest - to give zero updates and rather vague ETA's at the moment is just awful.

One slight change with mine is that it's gone compound out again on the 28th April - not sure if this is saying it's left Antwerp and on its way to Netherlands, or whether this is just another movement through the process at Antwerp?

I'm hopeful that it's the former and the next update being it has arrived in the UK, but i think this is wishful thinking on my part!

Any kind of locational update should surely not be too taxing on Ford and give further clarity to those of us waiting on our cars for well over a year etc, but what do i know? ?

I guess it's still just a waiting game right now...

Agree its a bit poor. Surely they know where the cars are, and could communicate that information. I am also sure that the transportation department at Dagenham would need to know dates so that the actual deliveries to dealers can be planned and managed in a cost effective manner.

You'd think so, yes... apparently not ?

On the transportation side of things, my dealer told me they don't arrange anything until it actually arrives in the UK (no wonder there are delays, having to work reactively as opposed to proactively)

I do find it strange they have thousands of vehicles all around the world, with no apparent idea where their vehicles are at any given time... either way nothing seems likely to change and we're left no choice but to wait, and wait, and wait

I'm hopeful that seeing some status change last week means that there is movement... again, i guess its a waiting game.

I’ve got a job1 2021 Mach-e AWD XR which has never had an OTA update. Fortunately my dealer has agreed to do all the available updates via FDRS for me next week (may take 2 days). They will only charge a couple of hours as most of the time the car just needs to be left to get on with installing the updates. The dealer contacted me today to say during a Ford update meeting today they were notified of various "over-the-air" Mach-E software updates due to take place over the course of May, which includes navigation enhancements & Apple CarPlay dynamic resizing of the app - plus other stuff which will ready the system for future larger updates. Even if I get the OTA updates they have agreed to still update all other available updates via FDRS. Hopefully those who haven’t had an OTA update yet will shortly be getting one ☝

I think Ford have very quickly got their ? together since last year and are knocking these MME's out at an astonishing rate at the Cuautitlan plant in Mexico, so you're very lucky indeed! haha.

The next ships to visit Veracruz will be:

1648735054160.png

If your MME is currently sitting at the docks in Veracruz, i'd imagine you're earmarked for the Grande Mirafiori, due to dock there on the 10th April. If not this and you're unlucky then the Grande Texas on the 24th April for sure.
My Mach-E missed both the Grande Mirafiori and the Grande Texas (who left for Houston yesterday). Where can I find the list of the next ships to visit Veracruz with transport to Antwerp, please?

Hi,

You can use the grimaldi site to track ships due to leave veracruz here: GNET Grimaldi Corporate (grimaldi-eservice.com)

Simply put the POL as Veracuz and the POD as Antwerp and you will see the next ships due to dock / leave - i feel your pain regarding delays at port.

The next ship due to leave is the Grande Torino on the 19th May, although it's worth noting that sometimes the status changes are delayed by up to a week so it might still update to show as making one of the vessels:

I hope this helps!

On this, i've noticed my vehicle has had a few Compound Out and In status changes the last few days so on a punt called my dealer who confirmed mine is at Flushing waiting to catch the boat to the UK, so hopefully all of ours are moving at the same pace and should be in the UK by the end of the week!

ETA from my dealer is 21st May, which all things considered (UK Customs, Release etc) sounds about right...

GRANDE TORINO SHIPMENT UPDATE

Just a super quick update to say that my 2022 moved to status ANTWERP on 20/04

This is the last stage in the Antwerp process after clearing customs (“ANT CUST”) and means that the cars are ready to move on to the next step of the journey to Dagenham via Vlissingen in the Netherlands.

As this update was actually 5 days ago they may already be in the Netherlands ready to be loaded onto Adeline who is just crossing the English Channel tonight heading to NL and is due Tuesday lunchtime. Some of the cars could well be on UK soil now, or if not by the end of this week :)

Not long now.
Mine is currently in Vlissingen since Monday apparently, is the Adeline the only RORO that travels between NL and UK Ports?

I'd also be keen to find out if there's any way of checking manifests to see if our vehicles have made the trip already?

Might be worth checking on yours too?

The CELESTINE does the same VLI- DAG run as the ADELINE. They usually run in tandem. While one is in DAG the other is in VLI.
