INSTAVOLT PRICE INCREASE:

I couldn't read the letter as I was immediately distracted by the "signature" which is obviously fake. It looks like a DocuSign selection or something.

Strange choice for a CEO. It seems designed to make the letter more personal but for me it does the opposite.

is BP Pulse worth subscribing to? My free Ionity sub comes to an end this month and will be renewing it but not so sure about BP Pulse.

It all depends on your individual situation. If you do a lot of miles and are regularly using Ionity charging then the £150 (ish) annual subscription could be worthwhile. I am not sure how much discount you get, I think the price was 39p/kwh whereas public price was 69p/kwh which means you would have to charge 500kw/h to get your money back. No good for me as I rarely do long runs and my nearest Ionity station is 60 miles away. Although BP Pulse is a cheaper subscription, the price difference between a member and non member is not as great so you have to charge more to gain a benefit. I have a BP Pulse subscription because my business pays for it and our company van has to do 1 or 2 out of area journeys a month where the driver needs to charge on the road and I don't want to give him a credit card. Also comes in handy when I do go away. As I say, you have to look at your own situation and do the math.

This was posted on FordUK's YouTube channel on Monday. Had a look for it and tried to activate. It would seem that it is NOT yet available and the powers that be in Ford that I have spoken to have no idea when it will be. Why oh why publish this video then? At least put a caveat in saying that it is "coming soon"

I also found this the other day as well. It was published on a Ford copyrighted website and was issued by Ford Cologne. Apparently, if you talk to esales or the BEV team Ford haven't approved this. Perhaps the statement should have read "all Mustang Mach E's with the EXCEPTION of those in the UK. Once again it seems that UK owners are getting short changed.

Mine was updated last week also at EH Altrincham. They did say that Ford was paperless and all info was on the vehicles digital record. It would be useful to have access to this however.
Thanks for the reply

Don’t hold your breath :)

In 16 months of ownership, two Mach-E’s, a few recalls and fix it trips to the dealer - I’ve never had anything entered in the online service record / FordPass app / been given any paperwork.

So I’m guessing that that’s just how Ford rocks. When the first service is done however I’d be expecting to see something for sure.
Thanks for the info.

This (roof box!) would be perfect, and the rear bike rack too, as far as I’ve been told the car can’t carry them

I ordered mine on the 2nd Feb 22 and it was built on the 12th July and sat in Veracruz, where I think it boarded a ship on the 6th Aug supposed to arrive in Antwerp end of August.

whereismymme.com says it is still in Veracruz, but I am hoping that isn’t correct. I was told to expect it end of Oct.
Mine was ordered March, and supposedly built end of July, and is currently sat waiting for a boat…. :(

There were boats leaving Veracruz on the 5th and 6th August, the next one isn’t until end of Aug. Hopefully yours is on one of the early Aug boats

There's a few other inconsistencies with that video as well. The "status as at 13.6.20" on the FordPass app. Apparently there were more advanced features on FordPass back then than now:

You can open/close windows.
Operate the lights
Open the frunk
Open the tailgate.

Is this a Unicorn FordPass app for the UK?

Can any of our European friends confirm if these features are available in Europe?

Backup Start Password / Passcode
I am trying to understand if this is available on UK cars. I have a feeling it is part of Phone as a Key (PaaK) which I understand is not available in the UK due to insurance issues.

I like the idea of this as part of a "rainy day" contingency plan: I have set up and tested a 7-digit PIN entry code to use on the driver's door keypad. This will unlock the vehicle and allow me to enter. I would then like to be able to try to start the car and be prompted for this Backup Start Password and then be able to start the car. That would allow me to unlock, enter, and start the car without the fob. You never know when the fob might be lost, destroyed, or stolen. I'll confess that I once put the fob of a holiday hire car into the zip pocket of my swim shorts and later walked into the sea for a swim... Amazingly the fob continued to work for a couple of days and then died. The breakdown company had to literally drag the car, with its handbrake on, onto the back of a low loader. I had to take a long taxi ride to the airport to get a replacement hire car. The only good news was that I had taken out UK insurance cover in the hire car excess which paid for everything.

So it would be good to have a method of unlocking and starting the car when the fob is not available in an emergency or when someone like myself has done something silly.

I had this appear in FordPass today. Any ideas what it is about?
Also how do you get rid of these field service notices?

You are quite right in your thinking that using a pass code to start the car without having the key is all to do with the lack of paak due to insurance issues. We CAN programme our own pass code (in addition to the factory set one which can't be deleted) to gain entry to the car but we CANNOT start it via the main screen

Yes I've had this message today also. I think the notification falls off the edge when the field action has been completed. I know you can't delete it yourself.

EDIT - Just found the notice attached. Very strange as we already have a second keyfob in the UK.

2nd EDIT - As of today 24/08/2022 FordPass doesn't show this notification anymore on my phone.
