So I got some more clarity on my situation...

Apparently the ordering team have been placing the orders in the order of when they were received but the plant in Mexico is a “batch build” plant... apparently it block builds 30 vehicles of the same specification at a time. So apparently this means that if they haven’t got enough for a full 30 x RHD AWD ERs they would potentially have to select later orders of the same spec to complete the batch.

So from this I can deduce that early on, there we’re probably not that many AWD ER pre-orders, or at least not the 30 required for a batch build, which meant that my order kept slipping until we got 30. I am curious to see if anyone else in the UK with and AWD ER has the same build date as me... 8th Feb (?).

They are being super helpful though and someone is still looking specifically at my vehicle to see if they can give me any more info. I really hope something happens. I don’t know if I can wait until May ?

Nice info. Where did you hear that? It makes a lot of sense. I would have thought that the RWD ER would be the most popular. You get good range, better package overall and still qualifies for the PICG. The RWD SR is really basic by comparison so I can't see many of those. I would have thought that they could lump FE and AWD ER together as the are pretty much the same but both don't qualify for the PICG so maybe not that many. There was some on Facebook group Ford Mustang Mach-E UK group said he had been given a build date of 5 Dec with delivery in March. His was AWD SR. I just hope we get to confirm soon

My husband has been in contact with someone who helped us when we were strugfliwith the system to put in our pre-order back in the summer.
Two things.
1. Apparently those of you given build dates might not actually have the correct dates and you won't know your build date until an unspecified amount of time after you have confirmed your order.
2. Emails being sent this week to confirm orders. At last. Hooray!

Who knows. I guess they don't know who is going to back out yet so I'd imagine it is thr people who pre ordered later who might get pushed further to the front of the queue when people pull out. Who knows, just going by what we were told.

A lady who emailed me after my tweet, on the concierge team.

And yes re: PICG... that’s what I assumed when she told me...and I also don’t get why the FE couldn’t make a batch... it’s just the wheel arches and door steps that are different... just the door step in the case of my order in black!

I wonder how many FEs have been ordered in the UK? I’m going to call every dealership in the UK after the first one lands to see if anyone has cancelled after shipping. I might get lucky.

I did notice no pictures on the tyres section, aside from the 20’a (which look pretty good tbh). Probably the first thing I will be doing is blacking up the rims, and maybe going up to 20’s... But it would be handy my Dealership could do this as soon as the car arrives and before I collected it... I’m hoping when we are able to convert orders online that we will have all these options, as well as some more images!
