I was driving a BMW xDrive30e 2020 before i got the Mach-e and even tho the interior feel was more luxurious, the suspension was not more comfortable than Pony, navigation was atrocious, mobile app was worse than Fords.
Beemer had it's own quirks as well (i guess most of vehicles do). I was considering ioniq and EV6 as other people but the more i drive the mach-e the happier i am i chose it, of course it all depends what are your priorities.
Mach-e has the ride height (SUV) both myself and my better half prioritised when buying the car, ioniq and ev6 are regular rides. I was looking into Volvo but to be honest i wasn't impressed with the infotainment system, now that thing was laggy! As someone mentioned before the only EV i would consider over pony is Tesla Y.

As a taller person i would have liked more steering wheel adjustment (depth/height), middle arm rest could be better designed with more adjustability, not a huge fan of rotary gear selector like when you have to make a tight spot manoeuvres in a hurry i find myself passing reverse into park gotta look down to set it and continue etc. So maybe paddles on the steering or a stick would be better.
Wireless charger is really bad, i only used it a few times when i had no other options, phone gets really hot and the rate of charging is slow.

Would love to see more personalization options on the SYNC, ability to use vehicle cameras to record (use as a dashcam) to USB stick.

I wouldn't worry about the battery, if you like the car just enjoy the ride.
Agree, I also am taller and would prefer a slightly better driving position - I would like more reach on the steering and the seat to go lower. I was able to get pretty close to ideal by raising the seat back to a more upright position which was relatively easy due to the unusual amount of head room so I'm happy enough, but our Mini EV has better adjustability for taller drivers. I don't have an issue with the rotating dial, aside from how cheap it - and the one on the screen - feels. Definitely not the same as a JLR one. This is of course made up for by the gasp from the passengers when you tickle the throttle, or the way it seems to urge you into corners, and that you can do that with passengers and in relative comfort. But it's definitely a different set of compromises than in a normal ICE car.

The real "gotcha" is that the car is already outdated for an EV.
It charges comparatively slow and the app/software is rubbish.

My biggest issue is the ride quality. It's very bouncy and rough, completely under engineered for the weight. I've done 25k miles and it's a bone shaker on all but perfect roads.
But it says in your profile you don't drive a GT. Is your profile out of date or are you giving advice on the ride quality of a non GT to someone who is asking about the GT?

I've had one on loan over the weekend. I also have driven the other models on the 48 hour test drive offer. The GT was my preferred version, but even that has compromises/limitations. I'm still considering if I want to proceed with buying one.

The battery and HV components have an 8 year 100,000 warranty. So just drive and enjoy.

Am gonna run it into the ground!

My question was for another contributor on here who appears to believe the GT is the same as the normal mache when making comparisons.

Yawn.

I've driven a GT. The suspension is stiffer again and worse over large bumps. The big problem though is the resonant bouncing in the rear. The largest thread on this forum is people trying to swap out the suspension to fix it.

If you like the car, great. I'm just giving my opinion, which is not in the minority. Thought it would be useful to a new buyer. Don't bother replying to me mate. I'll stop posting. Can't be bothered with keyboard warriors.

So, yesterday I'm driving along and I get warning 'Service Vehicle Soon' and the usual icons on the dash, Check the app, 2 messages: High Voltage Battery Warning - vehicle may shut down without further warning and Powertrain malfunction/reduced power. I had the HV issue fixed back in 2022 and i think (can't remember!!) that this was the same message, anyone had the HV fix fail again?
Yeah mine failed for the second time back in April. The original replacement was done in August 2022 but in chatting with the tech who worked on it, he thinks it’s highly likely that the part they fitted back then was the original HVBJB part rather than the improved one. It seems there were a lot of headless chickens running around behind the scenes at Ford then and whilst my part was replaced pretty quickly (rather than the three month wait some people had to endure) it wasn’t identified that it wasn’t the new version.

You could still be within that time where they were potentially fitting bad replacements, maybe? There was something he mentioned about the colour of the dots on the contactor being different between the old and new versions?

So, sports fans, the stats are in for 65,466 miles & 27mths.

Total kWh bought 22,067 for £5,784.25

74.96% 16,542 Kwh at home cost £2,607.10
25.04% 5,526.48kWh on DCfC for £3,141.15

So 25.04% on DCFC cost 54.65% of total

Av £0.16/kWh home and £0.57/kWh DCFC

If ICE @ 48mpg & £1.50/litre would cost £9274.35 in petrol.

Therefore, fuel saving using EV (MME RWD ER) = £3,526.10 which is 38.02%.

Added to which savings are those on income tax company BIK (car tax) and Corporarion Tax breaks = mucho savings ?

Further to Statto’s earlier fuel cost post, average cost of fuel over 27mths & 65.5k miles is 9p/mile.

Average cost since 1st Jan 2023 when electricity costs were high is 12p/mile which is higher than the old 8p/mile HMRC rate and even falls outwith the new HMRC rate of 10p/mile.

Therefore, if you’re claiming business mileage, unless you’re charging at home all the time, you’re losing out?

I have to admit that I was a bit concerned by the reports on here about some people's insurance quotes going up quite considerably this year. Mine is due for renewal in October so I was dreading this week as the new quote was due to come through.
Just received the email and I must admit (after a phone call and a bit of negotiation) I was very surprised. £524 (which is actually LESS than I paid last year). I will admit that I have a multicar policy with my wife's Fiesta (£273) which helps, but even so I am more than happy with that. And it includes business use for both as well.

May I ask which insurance company are you with?
