Did anyone else here order a First Edition back in 2019?

If so, any 14-16 weeks dates?

I'm on it. Absolutely livid right now!
Have you confirmed? My husband has been told that 20 to 23 weeks is what they are saying for all new orders and orders that haven't been confirmed but once confirmed it might be less...this seems absolutely ridiculous as surely we should know before confirming when to expect it as we need to tie up other things like other cars going back etc

I confirmed within seconds of getting the email. As early orderers we were told that our builds were prioritised even if we were late confirming (which I wasn't).

Here's some of the emails I have received over the last year which clearly have been false.

This is the email that we were sent, but is seems that it isnt true, our dealer knows nothing and people here are saying they have confirmed yet still been told its 20 to 23 weeks. Why can't they just be honest?

They are making it up as they go along and providing BS answers as they 'can reassure you' of what exactly. facts need to happen now not illogical reassurances.

You are nicer than me, I thibk they are lying. I'm about to spend the most I've ever spent on a car, and this is how they treat us. Love the look of the car but beginning to think twice.

Yeah I am having a similar dilemma here now.

I see how the risible system has taken orders this week on a site that has been down for days. It then crashes when everyone applies for finance which is at a premium rate of 5% compared to a kuga being offer at zero rate.

I then ring a dealer who god bless him wants to do the deal but tells me that I can't apply for finance as the offer would expire after 60 days and delivery is after that date.

So I appear to be expected to click "order" giving a £1000 deposit without confirmation on the finance - potentially risking that money and wasting months of my time if the finance falls through.

And this is £50k for them!

When I got the email re earphones I thought you are taking the p. Ford uk.

You are fortunate you have people wanting to buy a car right now.

I am going to have a rant.

I must have far to much faith in the human race. The business my wife and I run is sales orientated so I really should know better but I always think the best of people but the recent posts on this thread has just brought me back to earth with an almighty crash and made me realise what some are really like.
When Ford first revealed the MME over a year ago (pre covid) I had just put a deposit down on a Peugeot e2008. Delivery was supposed to be April/May 2020. Just after Christmas I had the chance to drive the e208. It had the same battery and motor as the e2008 but, obviously, was a bit smaller. It drove nicely but I learnt that the seats that I had ordered were actually not available. So I cancelled the order. I managed to convince the wife that the MME was a good choice. She agreed so on 29th Feb (pre covid) I paid my £1000 deposit and ordered one. Estimated delivery was end 2020. My Ford account gave a count down list. I was always aware that I would be asked to confirm my order, then later apply for finance and then finally take delivery. This order of events has NEVER changed, just the timings (due to covid). Because of covid the factory in Mexico shut down. This meant that they couldn't continue with the retooling and updating of the plant. When they could eventually get back to work (at reduced levels) three months or so later a lot of the tooling was still stuck in Michegan. So by now it is pretty certain that the car was going to be delayed. Our website then updated to say that first deliveries were estimated early 2021. I think time wise we are about May/June. The estimated delivery time the changed to Spring 2021. I emailed the CRC team to query this and was told that early preorders were estimated early 2021 and newer preorders were the spring date. I wasn't told when the cutoff for early/newer was though.
Early 2021 to me meant 1st quarter (Jan/Feb/Mar) I have a estimated delivery date to dealer (according to vista) w/e 13 March 2021. Spring is March 20th to June 21st. It has been said in recent posts that we have been lied to by Ford. I don't see how you can substantiate that accusation. Have they kept us informed. NO. Did they say in October the we would order by end of November. NO, just that they were planning to ask us to confirm by then. As we all know this year has been extremely difficult for EVERYONE. Ford has not been immune to this. The original intention was to launch the MME in the US and EUR at the same time. That all went for a ball of chalk in March. As the whole concept of the MME was run by Ford US I think our side of the pond Ford teams didn't have that much input into the timeline. Given the timescale of shipping the cars to EUR it made sense that the factory would concentrate on getting as many cars to US customers as possible by 31st Dec to fulfill their commitment to deliver by end of 2020.
Some of us, if we believe what we have been told and have seen in writing, have already had our cars built. These could be sat in a parking lot waiting to be shipped. Some cars have already arrived in Norway. So they are doing the best they can. I agree that if you were an early adopter and have had a delivery estimate, and I emphasise ESTIMATE, after a late adopter then I think you are justified in feeling miffed. I would. However scheduling for production is done by the factory, it is dependant on supplies in stock and what their suppliers can deliver and when. So to keep the production line going they may have to nip and tuck here and there. It was mentioned on here that the plant is a batch build plant, build a run of 30 cars of 1 spec and then another 30 of a different spec. Unfortunately this means that if your particular model is number 31 and there only another 20 like for like yours may have to wait a bit longer.
I think given the circumstances worldwide, Ford have done very well to get to this stage. I don't feel as if I have been lied to. Just because you are not hearing what you want to hear doesn't mean you are being lied to. I knew what I was getting in to 9 months ago and things haven't changed, apart for a 3 month delay. And we all know why that is. Those who joined the journey recently have had ample opportunity to gather information (plenty of that on this forum) and make their own judgement. What has transpired in the last 2 days has always been the way it was going to be so don't start saying that you have been lied too.
I am positive I will vilified my some, probably most, for this rant but the more recent posts really annoyed me. I'm sorry, but if you don't like what has/is happening then bail out. If you want to stick with it and just go with the flow. This is just my opinion and is how I feel. For me another 3 months is going to seem like a breeze compared to the last 9. Oh and by the way, I have NO affiliations or connections with Ford. I just love their cars.
Rant over.

I agree with everything you say about the timeline change due to covid and the nature of batch build, but when we are told we have a delivery date of 20 to 23 weeks but are then told "I assure you though it won't be 20-23 weeks, that is aimed at new orders", somewhere there there is something that is simply not true.
