New vs old keys:
they disabled old ones

Love the frunk button, game changer. Although I like the size of the old one. Frunk button and branding outweighs size for me though.
Been trying to book it in myself, but no dealer seems to have stock! Been told to check back in 4 weeks

I know you are all busy, but nobody has commented on my post on the 17th about ferry crossing/alarm going off and OTA updates for a 3+ year old car. Appreciate any hot tips or whatever.

Apologies, never really looked for anything to disable the sensors or alarm but surely there’s something in the menus to do so?

Thought about this, too late, when Stangy went off on body shop’s truck the other day and I got a warning on the App that alarm went off?

Funny thing is I never once thought I needed to open me froot with the key or anything else other than the lever in passenger door.

New one mahoosive!

Think the thing that does it for me is the integral motion sensor which is a huge security benefit in my view.

Yes me as well! Hopefully the frunk button will make me (us) use the frunk more often!

Regarding the key fob stock, i would be persistent and demand the set date on the spot because when i went in for a breaks something-something recall, employee had to ask for my permission ( as in do you want us to order you a new key? That would require us to order and reprogram new ones blah blah... )

It took them a week to sort it out

Off Topic:

Looked around Explorer and Capri while waiting ( 1hr ) and i must say they look nice inside and out! Love the sliding angle on the SYNC screen

Nearly tempted into buying one or other before Christmas but somebody took up the froot space with an electric engine, animals!

Decided to stick with the old nag as even new MMEs don’t have all the accoutrements mine has.

Thanks Zed, I feel the safest option is to once again leave the car unlock (gold bars hidden ?).
As regards to OTA updates, not had one for probably at least 6 months and the last one was Step 1 of 2 (23-PU0924-DLDC) never got Step 2. Heyho the car runs really well, 26,500 mile later, no problems apart from a new windscreen replaced today.

Hey no problem Teslaeata (love your name), it appears that the only option on a ferry is to leave your car unlocked. It is beyond believe that for 3+ years I have asked Ford to fix this really simple problem, and they concentrate on giving us a load of games to play whilst parked up…unbelievable. Sorry rank was not directed at you……BUT FORD, for goodness sake employ managers who give a sh.one.t for their customers!!
