Battery is completely dead. Cant even get into the car right now to even turn on the screen if i could.
12 volt battery issue. You’ll have to use the leads in the front bumper to open the hood, remove the panels on the back of the Frunk and left side of the car and give it a jump. That may or may not allow you to drive it to the dealer, but should allow you to get it in neutral for a tow as others have suggested.

Yes I did.
i kept it there for 15-20 minutes as the dealer instructed and nothing.(this was when it just wouldnt shift out if park and battery to my knowledge was “good”)
You jumped the battery directly or the leads in the bumper?

Yes, before it was dead dead, it just said please stop etc etc. nothing about the battery came up. Then the tech at Tasca said to jump it as maybe the 12v was a little low. I did that by opening the frunk and removing the plastic and attaching to the + and - just as the manual shows. 15/20 minutes later the car still would not shift.
Reading on here and seeing the problems I too do assume it was the battery and that its dead. It got progressively worse About 5 hours in. I hadnt turned the car on for the whole 4 hours but i was getting really aggravated so I said okay let me see if this thing reset. When i turned it on i got a BUNCH of messages in error:

- Every door was “open”
- Motor Coolant Over temperature
- check brake system
- park aid fault
- service vehicle soon
- check headlamp system (this one popped up last time my advancetrac broke)
- pre collision assist not available
- door fault service required
- pedestrian sounder fault service now

Then thats when it just completely died. One headlamp turned on and my interior lighting kept going on and off as if someone was opening and closing the door then dead. i didnt know at the time it was dead, i just figured it was done playing games. Tow truck driver pulls up, I get out and close the door.He took the keys and sat in it and tried to do everything I told him it would not do. Then after he called his boss saying theh wont tow it i said great and went back to the car only to realize it wouldn't open. Jacket on my seat 5% on my phone.
I was so aggravated after all these hours i just let the car and called someone for a ride home. As I was walking away the car was “banging” something. Like someone was stuck in the frunk or trunk and banging on the car. (No one is stuck in there). Very weird….
Regardless, I said id keep you all updated.
I have got nothing but people trying to help me from Ford and i truly appreciate that. Dealership is great and roadside was fine and it wasnt their fault the tow operators wouldn't tow it so as mad as I am I cant put that on anyone.
Plan is tomorrow a towing company is coming at 8:30am to pick up the car. Anyone reading this please pray it wont be a repeat of today.
Ill keep you updated hoping this thread helps someone in the future. So far with all the issues I have had they seem to be dealer foxes only for now.

How is this done?
I want my jacket out of the car and i know this car will sit in the service lot until its ready to be worked on. So if i can get the frunk open so the techs can at least jump it so i can grab my coat that would be awesome.

All those issues definitely sound like a voltage issue. Could possibly be a loose connection from the battery I suppose.
If the tow truck can’t get it jumped you can use tow dolly on the rear wheels and lift the front with a wheel lift per the manual. I wouldn’t let them drag it up a flat bed, if they dont have smaller dollies to pull it up I’d go to Harbor freight and buy my own.

I know i know.
there are other posts about this issue but I will always keep this thread open until the problem is resolved.

Today I go to drop off my son to daycare. I of course always turn off my car. I was inside for 2 minutes then went to leave. I push the start button and it starts flashing green, and the message pops up to “Stop Safely”. The shifter won’t turn into N or D or even R. The time is 12:45pm. I call roadside assistance and they dispatch a tow. Thank god its only 45 degrees out. 4 hours go by… Now in this time ford stays in contact with you to see if the tow service has arrived. I keep texting back “N” for no.
Fast forward to the 4 hour and 15 minute mark. I call ford roadside and ask whats going on. They called the first tow company. Turns out they just cancelled.

So here we go dispatching another tow tow company who cancelled because they wont touch the EV. Third tow company gets dispatched. Its now 6:21pm. Tow company shows up and “didn't know it was electric” so he cancels and drives away. Currently as I type this Im now freezing because i have been in a car with bo heat for over 6 hours.A fourth tow company has been dispatched andI am awaiting to hear wether or not they will actually tow the car. I will keep you updated. Meanwhile the car is going CRAZY with lights. Headlights turning on and off the break lights are spazzing out and doing a tesla light show.
This is an absolute nightmare.
Hi there, Corey! This definitely doesn’t sound like the experience we want you to be having– If you'd like to, go ahead and send a private message to us with your VIN and name & location of dealership. I’d be happy to look into this for you. Thanks!

UPDATE:

I called the dealer today to get an update. He had called me earlier last week but i wasnt paying attention and just wanted to confirm.

car is still sitting waiting for parts since our initial mishap.
The battery control module under the rear seat has gone bad. They said the 12V battery is good though (even though i heard opposite from people in the forums with this problem)

he said he will call me monday with a complete update as there is still no eta to this part being shipped.
Im probably prepared to not see this car again for another month at the rate that everything is happening in the world from car shortages, shipping delays etc.

Will keep you guys updated through the whole process.

UPDATE:

No update as of Monday… I had to call all day Tuesday with no one answering the phone.
I finally asked for my original service advisor from the first time my car was there and he called me right back with an update. (So future reference if your RI, ask for Eric as hes fantastic).
Eric told me that the part has no ETA from ford and when it updates he will have my service advisor call me back.

as always I will update you guys when I get updates as well. So far, if your car has this issue its IMPORTANT not to shift to P. Id shift to N and coast to a spot thats easy to tow.

hoping to update you guys in a few weeks.

Ladies and gentlemen,

your update awaits. Last time we spoke was 10 days ago and today…nothing new.
However, I am bery sad I look into my garage and don’t see the mach so I went to walmart and got the hotwheels version. Enjoy.
Part is still back ordered with no eta.

Sorry to hear the update. My car is currently sitting at the dealer for the exact same problem. The parts needed are on back order and I've been told that my car will probably sit at the dealer for at least a few more weeks until parts arrive. There must be quite a few Mach-E's failing right now.

At this rate, it will be a month and a half to two months from when this problem started to when I can expect to get my car back.

I wonder if the issue is widespread enough on the GTs to warrant a recall

UPDATE:

Car was charged to 100% last night and i got the notification. I figured this was a good sign since it was able to be moved to get to the charger. Called ford and still nothing no status from my service rep.
I feel annoyed i always have to call him or talk to his peers for an update. Ill update when i know more.
