In the Bolt all you can hear is the fans, its like every fan in the entire car comes on full blast...and that is only 50kW.

Same with DCFC in the Leaf.

too many variables to say. Mexico could shut down tomorrow. Remember we are an United States. Even states can change things. It really is a what-if sorry cant say.
I'm also wondering to what extent US Customs will hold them up. When the pandemic first hit and things went into the initial lockdowns, I recall just about anything coming in from outside the country had an extra long delay. I have a friend at Apple who told me that anyone ordering a computer (and with everyone suddenly having to work from home ... everyone was ordering a computer) was probably waiting an additional 2 weeks just to get the products through Customs.

Obviously with all the excitement of getting the car, I'd LOVE to have it this year (my order was scheduled to complete on Monday ... not sure if it will because it sounds like several orders were running a few days behind predicted schedules from what I'm reading) ... but I really have no real expectation of the car making it here before the new year (but that sure would be nice if it did!)

What was it you were saying about ... time for a drink?? :)?

Completely agree. The tenor in general has gone south lately, and the amount of content which requires you to have Twitter or Facebook (neither of which I do) is disappointing. I had hoped it would be different here and reluctantly and to the dismay of my family jumped in. Social media represents the death of decorum, respect and decency far too often for my liking.
Yes, that's why more people than we realize are leaving FB ant Twit

Couldn't hurt if the "finance office experience" ends up being shorter, but yea, the logistics of this is crazy.
I bought a Hyundai in May this year. We did all negotiations over text. When we showed up all the forms were printed and the car was ready to go. It took us about 5 minutes signing forms with finance. The whole process was around 20 minutes, including a test drive of the specific vehicle we bought.

I was thinking of reaching out to the dealer and seeing if there was anyway we could work out ALL of the paperwork virtually, so our time together is minimal. Have you guys heard of anything similar with your dealers?

I hope this is the new normal, lol. You mean you didn't have to listen to the 15 minute speech about how bad you need the tire insurance/warranty? Man, I miss that. Maybe not.

The last time I bought a new car was 2015. I told the finance guy as soon as I got into his office to save his breath, as I didn't want to hear anything about extra warranties or insurance. This was after already being in the dealership for 2 hours waiting on all the paperwork to be ready and for the finance guy to finish whatever he was doing with other customers. He sensed I was pissed and didn't even mention the 'extras'.
