I was thinking of reaching out to the dealer and seeing if there was anyway we could work out ALL of the paperwork virtually, so our time together is minimal. Have you guys heard of anything similar with your dealers?
My dealer said that is how they plan to do it when the time comes - virtual discussion and finalization and just go sign and be done

The

The last time I bought a new car was 2015. I told the finance guy as soon as I got into his office to save his breath, as I didn't want to hear anything about extra warranties or insurance. This was after already being in the dealership for 2 hours waiting on all the paperwork to be ready and for the finance guy to finish whatever he was doing with other customers. He sensed I was pissed and didn't even mention the 'extras'.
I always keep the “I’m not paying for the tinting you’ve already done” card until the very last part of the negotiation. 1) I never asked for it in the first place so thanks for the extra gift. 2) $499 for tinting two windows when it takes the guy with the precut templates about 30 minutes is ridiculous.

I’ve had tinting from the dealer on every car and never paid for it.

I hope this is the new normal, lol. You mean you didn't have to listen to the 15 minute speech about how bad you need the tire insurance/warranty? Man, I miss that. Maybe not.
They may still push that sort of stuff, we can just mute the call or just say no much easily I think

In short yes. I took delivery of the Mini during Covid. Dealer was awesome about giving us one for 24 hours to drive (didn't want to give it back) while we waited for our build to complete. Once I knew the car was on the lot, I wired the money (a little unsettling since I hadn't actually seen MY car yet). Paper signing took 5 minutes in person, he handed me the keys and I've not looked back.

You have to say that one on the right sure looks good. Kind of looks like it may be just a bit faster than the rest. Is it just me that can sees that? :p

anything happens past is done gone. we don't bring it up. move on and how about we talk ev talk like this forum is for.

What do you guys think of the ford VW partner ship making a EV on a VW platform?
What about the big new grille on the BMW ev? why its ev does it need that?
what do you guys think about the news of tesla in china and not meeting range and battery not holding up?
what do you guys think of General motors catching so much heat for how they played both sides of the fence. Now they make EV but heck i cant afford those models.

What ev news is out there that we can talk?
How about Tesla merging with Ford ? Musk discussed last week being open to a merger but did not specify with whom. Tesla has a lot of enterprise value at their stock price and Ford has a lot of dealer and service locations and major commercial truck markets (and lot of debt). Feel free to move this to a new thread - this is the only one I have bothered to read the last few weeks - no surprise there with recent controversies.

I am hoping for the same thing. I mean I did it for a refinance on my house and again when I sold my house which is slightly more money then a MME.

The only thing stopping it would be the dealer in my opinion.

You are right - in a normal world the dealer would not like the remote financing process (unlike mortgages where remote stuff is preferred as it drives efficiency ) - but due to Covid, dealers may not have options than to do something remote as much as possible.

It is much more difficult to talk you into add-ons, like warranties, accessories, interior and exterior "protection", VIN etching on windows, etc, when you are not face to face, and your "new baby" is ready to go just outside the door.
