The lots will be full of Mache down at the plant. They will wait tell oktb date. Then ship out. That is how it works with any launch with any manufacturer. I don't know if any of you live by a Vehicle manufacturing plant, but if you do and drive by. Your see vehicles everywhere waiting to ship.

When the silver dome in Pontiac Michigan closed. General motors used the massive parking lot for years to park finished vehicles before they shipped.

Demo model will start making soon, if not a few already. All the info i have passed on is true. Dates still are holding the same.

The funny thing is JD powers is considering Ford for meeting the goal of even sending any Mache out this year with what has happen with covid-19.

Other manufacturing are either saying there will be a big delay or even moving it to another year. I don't think some people understand how lucky we are ford is not more behind then they are.

Didn't they also use the silver dome lot for parking all the recalled vw "clean" diesels?

OKTB is the have to make a certian amount of units and then they are inspected and have to pass.

Government people will visit and units that are complete taken apart.
Are these US Government people or Mexico Government people?

Well, I guess we will find about the first week of November if these vehicles are heading North for delivery or laying torn apart on a Mexico tarmack. Hope it's not my First Edition laying there torn apart.

My source said the same this weekend. Units coming out now are still pre-productions.

..... How impressive is that.

......
Very.
Especially since the original concept was tossed in the bin and they started over from scratch.
117 years of auto manufacturing experience is going to show up in the final product. I can't wait to get my hands on an electric vehicle made by 'car guys' (and gals...). It would not surprise me one little bit if the Mach E becomes the new EV benchmark. I expect this to be a driving experience that isn't available anywhere else.

Yes, pre-production units. Saleable, but only supplied to certain customers like Marketing, top rated Dealers. Nothing to the "general public" until OKTB.

If you have a good dealer, they can give you a decent delivery estimate, as they have access to track almost ever step of the production process. They know the date the vehicle is scheduled to be produced, when it is actually produced, when it is shipped, intermediate shipping locations and dates, etc. Of course, anything can happen along the way (your vehicle falls off the train, lol) which would make their final delivery date estimate invalid. Likely the reason most dealers don't quote dates, as their crystal ball is not the best.

If you think a minute about the OKTB concept, you see why it makes sense. Although there are pre-prod units, nothing is for certain until full line speed. You may find a flaw on the 1000th unit. What's easier... going out the the parking lot and fixing 1000 units in a day, where you have access to all the top Engineering talent, or chasing 1000 units around the world hoping that all the Ford dealers are capable of executing a repair, customers will bring their units back, etc. Absolute no-brainer.

Currently, they're making about 20 cars per shift according to earlier posts. Obviously that will get exponentially greater but I'd personally not expect anywhere near the 1300 per week figure for some time. That can lead to a bit of pessimism.

A lot of the "concern" is due to the lack of real information. We don't know, for example, what the reservation to order conversion rate is. Given that rez numbers were around the 80,000 number (not total reservations though) the conversion rate is important info for most of those without low numbers trying to figure out when they can 'expect' the car. A high conversion rate means later, a lower conversion rate means earlier. Add in the unknowns about EU/UK production ...

I also do not expect Ford to be releasing proprietary information about the conversion rate etc. But it'd be nice to know. ;)

Personally I think I'm between the halfway and 2/3's point. I do not expect to actually see my MME until June 2021 given the EU manufacturing constraints as well as the shipping to Hawaii. Later than that will cause me to rethink the purchase. Others have lease obligations ending and need a time-definite for the vehicle.

Given the worldwide human devastation the pandemic has caused, these really are minor issues, but they are of some concern nonetheless.

Shocked if you don't get your vehicle by 1Q 2021.

The biggest joy out of this is when the day comes and we all have our mache. Seeing you guys enjoying it. Nothing makes a ford work happier then seeing people happy with our product. Hope everyone will post pics and videos on here.
Hell, I’m taking pictures and video of the damn charger I got. Better believe I will be taking pictures of this car! Can’t wait!

You just highlighted the reason VW has a parking lot(s) full of ID.3s.

My ride is a mustang, but last week the wife and I went to the Jersey Shore for a couple of getaway days. We took her Durango to fit the beach chairs, beach cart, and luggage. To maximize profitability ALL the parking lots, street spaces, etc at the jersey shore are cramped into tiny little nooks and crannies - which was really difficult for me trying to maneuver a much bigger vehicle than what I'm used to. It convinced me that 360 cameras are a great idea, and that I hope the MME is not too big compared to my pony.
And the Active Park Assist ;)
