So you are hoping the packs we ordered and will pay for get smaller? This is not what I understood the announcement was (it was a 100 Kwh pack with 11% held back). If they actually put less cells in and do not tell people leaving them to believe it is still 100 Kwh pack would that not be real poor PR at it's best. Would turn me off for sure.
Are we saying that at 88Kwh, the Mach E will get an estimated range of 270 miles on RWD? Is that considered 100% full charge excluding the reserved amount? Would you be able to charge it up to the full 88Kwh in everyday driving not just long trips?
I could see Ford wanting to cut down on the size of the battery pack (weight) to help improve efficiency and range? But they need to figure out how to cut bulk weight in the car components too and improve the motor(s) efficiencies to get in line with how Tesla can get 316 miles on a 75Kwh pack with AWD at 100% charge?

270 miles was the target for AWD with the 88 kWh usable battery. IIRC, RWD, and 88 kWh battery has an EPA target of 300 miles.

The ER is a 376-cell 98.9 kWh battery in total. Ford is blocking off 11% of that as a safety reserve, so 88 kWh usable. Computer-projected range of 300 miles in the RWD and 270 in the AWD (from that 88 kWh). Final EPA numbers hinting at being a few% more than that.

Some are also semi-expecting that after enough customer data is collected, Ford may do an OTA update next year to free up a bit more of that 11% reserve to expand range a bit further.

What Ford has lead us to believe. What they have informed the public is that the pack is still 98.8 KWh but they are segmenting some off to account for degradation. The tesla epa range is false and not as per standard EPA scalars and as such over states the true range and is not close to being realized in the real world. Ford has no need to compete with bogus results. We also suggest you look at the Tesla model S and its 100 kwh pack to understand why some here jumped onto the MME. I see no need yet to tell Ford what to do until we see what they have done.

In another forum I'm in my post count is well over 5 digits....I don't think there is a limit ;)

Fun fact with our forums here: You can hit the "Quote" button in one thread and include that quote in another thread (no dbout confusing everyone along the way ! LOL).

I had originally counted about 3500 parking spots in the various lots. And that was the straight line parking that I think they stack production cars in end to end, and not the employee lots with standard angled parking.
Yea, I caught that later. I’m going to have to redo my little imagery analysis based on that other lot. I didn’t think it was a lot, but it is and boy do they cram the cars in there!

I was shocked what it added up to when I was doing the count and projections. I could be off 20% either way, but I think it's in that neighborhood. Plus there's dirt areas it looks like they might be able to use as spillover if really needed.

It helped that Google is showing the old image with tons on Fiestas stacked up.

Ok, so Apple Maps has a good picture of the site and from there you can do a bit of speculative imagery analysis. The largest parking lot appears to have angled rows that have two cars in each row for about 100 cars per column. And it looks like, based on the cars that are parked there in the image, and the painted stripes in the lot and the smaller lot above, the lot has a total capacity of about 1,400 cars. I believe I read someplace earlier that they were planning on running 1,000 cars per week? If so, then they should be shipping cars about once a week to once every 10 days, once they begin producing units for sale at production volume. If production starts the 3rd week of October, as has been speculated, and NA gets units before Europe, and FE and Premium are run first, then possibly 9,000 units would be produced by Christmas. Of course, remember, it takes about 4 weeks to get from that lot to your local ford store, so probably only 5,000 Mustang Mach Es are going to actually be in customer’s hands in 2020!

Unless Ford does factory delivery!
I find it very hard to believe that it would take 4 weeks to get from Mexico City to LA. 1800 miles in 4 weeks with no stops along the way until hitting the US. Maybe 10-14 days max.

Are you considering how long it will take the ICE agents to check every Frunk for stowaways?
