The Korean War vets were kind of ignored because it was a "forgotten" war for much of the populace.
Yeah, that always really bugged my dad - korea was the first war we didn't win, and he felt everybody looked down on him for that. Obviously it wasn't nearly as bad as what happened to vietnam vets, but he was a teen on VE and VJ day and saw the huge homecoming WW2 vets deservedly got. He always felt like nobody cared, which is definitely better than being despised but doesn't feel good nonetheless.

I was really glad that I was able to take him to see the Korean war memorial in washington before he died. My dad almost never let you see him sad/mournful, but that was one time he did.

Thanks @Illinibird for taking me down the road to think about my dad. I had to change my avatar to shot from when we got to ride in a B-17; he's actually 75 in that picture. I think he looks pretty good.

I feel his pain. I was only 2 or 3 when he got back from that war so I don't have first hand knowledge of how they were treated. It definitely is the "Forgotten War" as there's hardly any documentaries on it like there is on "The Hitler Channel". The Korean War monument was done well and Sue and I spent a lot of time there because it's right by the Vietnam Memorial.

we have had convos about cats and spy satellites on this thread. I think you are safe
yes - don't worry, I'd issue tickets if necessary. I'm nothing if not conscientious.

Those two memorials are perhaps the most moving in all of DC. I make it a point to go to them every time I am there. My dad was a WWII vet along with his four brothers and brother in law and they were all fortunate to come home. My Father in Law served in Korea as an MP in the Marine Corps.

People for the Electrification of The Automobiles?
We've all heard the stories of animals that crawled into a warm hood and didn't do too well when the car started. Maybe we'll all become the People for the Electrocution of Terrified Animals?

People for the Eating of Tasty Animals.
That's already a T-shirt.

Funny story is when people started grabbing domain names, that was the first group that bought PETA.org.

I'm aware of the former. (Not the latter, but that's funny!)
