You are right - in a normal world the dealer would not like the remote financing process (unlike mortgages where remote stuff is preferred as it drives efficiency ) - but due to Covid, dealers may not have options than to do something remote as much as possible.
I bought a new house during the pandemic. It was the fastest closing I’ve ever had as I still had to show up to the attorney’s office, but they put me all alone in the conference room with a pen and the stack of papers to sign (all pre-tagged so I wouldn’t miss any spots). In and out in 25 minutes! The next morning, the proceeds from the sale of my old house were wired into my account. Sooooo easy.

Granted, if I was a first time buyer, I might have needed the usual explanation of every piece of paper but it’s nice having done this a few times before. Lol.

Another topic who here has charged a ev at a DC fast charger? sitting there and hear and can sometimes feel the popping of the heat expanding in the battery pack and think WTF lol.

if you never been in a EV your get to experience a lot of little things that ICE doesn't do.
I just started a new thread with this question under CHARGING topic: DCFC Question.

I don't hate GM at all, but that's some really moral-less leadership. That will keep them always catching up.
I don't blame companies for not wanting to get involved in a political debate when the electorate is polarized. So no doubt GM doesn't win any points for switching sides. However, Ford did as well. It led the charge to have the Trump administration change the fuel economy standard -- which created the mess -- before signing onto the CARB agreement.

The GM position seemed bizarre to me given its investment in EVs and its impressive platform, not to mention its fuel cell technologies. It may have thought that supporting the revised standards would result in the Trump administration supporting or at least not putting the kibosh on the extended tax credit legislation. Of course that didn't work but it may have been the reasoning.

Another irony will be if Mary Nichols, the current head of CARB, is nominated to head the EPA. She would kinda end up suing herself like in a family matter: Nichols vs. Nichols. (JK about suing herself).

Now we have something to argue about, because clearly the red one is always faster. Until we get the orange one, of course.

I might have gone with silver if not for my current vehicle... maybe I should have gotten that bright blue FE and keep all one color fenders, ?

Checks with spouse, she says I "can't" get a GT no matter how well I like the MME. I mean if the car is really hers anyway...

Yes, the Grabber Blue one!

I say divorce the spouse...lol. !!!!

I debated colors too.... The silver looked pretty futuristic, the white was storm trooperist

In the end and even if I already have a Ruby Red 2018 F150, we opted for the Rapid Red it just, in my opinion, gives the car a sporty yet stylish look

I can empathize....my spouse was adamant that I NOT choose Grabber Blue. She claimed it looked too much like a toy and not a grown up vehicle. Fight the battles you can win gentlemen.

Those there sound like fighten words. Is that a challenge ;). The finish on all them looks real good but it is scientific fact that some colors are just faster, less drag, and then you throw a set of slow red calipers into the mix; just saying :p. Can't let those grabber blue guys get to cocky.

The specs say enough torque on both our colors. We will see.

One week until media performance reviews.

All waiting for shipping commencement to be announced, all good with the builds.

It is now safe to go OT.

I wanted Rapid Red (most of the time I pick red) but she wanted a different color. I choose to fight other battles I could win and we ended up ordering Infinite Blue Metallic. I did get AWD but she balked at the price addition for the ER battery so reluctantly we have the SR one. She's not furious with me now for ordering the car.

Not really an oktb its more like yes it is but cant say. tell shipping issues worked out.
I cant believe the powers that be have not yet worked out the shipping issues. I appreciate that what with Covid and all it probably put a spanner in the works but they surely have had long enough to sort something out. Being totally selfish, how difficult is it to go from the factory to Veracruz and put some on a boat to Europe. Given the size of the US I can see that that might cause a bit more of an issue. Hopefully we will all get our cars very soon. ? ?

Thank God they didnt a matte black. So many matte black cars and they all look ugly with the wrap. Just like the BMW vaccuum/pig nostril in the front. I think Mazda was the first or Audi i cant remember but i cant believe designers look at these styles and say "oh thats nice!" ?

I think the real issue is timing. Until they resolved the last issue with the car that needed to be fixed, they couldn't book space on a specific ship/sailing. Now they have to get allocated space at the last minute, which can't be easy - they'll likely have to piecemeal the first cars over whatever space remains on imminent departures. The same is probably true for rail lines - there is a complex network of rail lines owned by different entities each with their own scheduling. That's probably why they're supplementing with trucks, although those too aren't necessarily just sitting around waiting for a call from Ford.

It can be very difficult. Restriction are changing everyday. One day you think i'll be able to ship these by boat to the port of portugal or spain. Schedule everything in 2 weeks which is unreasonable but for the purpose of this convo 2 weeks. Get to day before shipping day you load the trucks and send them to the port only to find out that evening the government shut down the country. So now you cant ship it.
Locally it can also be a shitshow. Call transport company they tell tell you np we can ship in mext week. Get to next week transport never shows up. Call transport, they are short staffed cause one guy got covid now 3 4 drivers including the one thst wss supposed to pick up your cars is now in quarantine because he was in direct contact

They probably have to worry about low-manning, new COVID protocols, decreased schedules, etc. It's just a hot-mess right now.

I am sure that they are doing the best they can given the circumstances. It's just so frustrating that we are so close but yet so far. I knew that once they had got production going and cars were being made impatience would kick in. No matter how much you tell yourself to calm down and wait your turn, you just want your turn to be yesterday and not tomorrow. I'll compromise and settle for today;)
