Possibly bluetooth distance estimation.

I am feeling quite modern and high society now with my 2009 4x4 Reg Cab ;). Guess we are both up grading just a wee bit.
I just donated my 2006 Prius to make room for the Mach-E. My other car is a 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid (I *really* like that car and plan to drive it until the wheels fall off.) This will be my first new car in 11 years.

The Mach E replaces our Leaf. I still need a truck. I'm still watching eF-150 and Rivian.

Inside EV had a good video talking about the Rivian. You should check it out. They are really excited about it, all of them.
The Rivian is your small, can do truck things and camping. kyle said perfect for the outdoor travel person, family, colorado, and other outdoor states. While the F-150 can do all that and more of a work truck.

Ford is charging $5000 for an extra 24 kWh now (jumping from the 75 kWh pack to the 99). Projecting that to the whole 99 kWh pack pegs it at almost $20,000.
I don't have a hard citation for this, but my PD friend was saying that the battery was $22,000, our cost. This was about a year and a half ago, and I don't know if he meant the big or the small battery. At the time, there may have only been one battery. I also don't know if this is just for the cells, or the assembled battery box.

The modules and full pack part prices are already available at parts.ford.com.

This price is roughly right, but it depends on your selected dealer. Locally I've seen figures ranging from about $17k to about $32k (from a Lincoln dealer across the street from the Ford dealer), iirc. I assume this is just the part and not labor, fluids, etc.

I’m still driving a 2003 pickup truck.
I had a Ranger for about 20 years too. But it became the secondary vehicle after I got a nicer Escape about a decade in. Now that I'm spending $60k on something even better, I wouldn't make an old truck my primary vehicle.

It’s not my primary vehicle. It’s my truck. I’ve always commuted much of the time via mass transit or bike. The Tacoma had just over 100,000 miles on it.

Maybe it only costs Ford $12k (don't really know), but what they'd actually sell it for is surely higher than cost.

But those prices should continue to trend downward in the coming years.
Today, the replacement price is $20K and $26K

That's plus labor. I doubt any of us have equipment needed to lift these monsters. On the good news side, it should be covered by the warranty for the next few years.

Wow and that is just one battery pack??? So technically replacing all 6 would be $120K and then some???

No, the pack is the collection of all the modules into one large tray.

A module is a collection of a bunch of smaller cells.

Ford sells the modules individually. You don't have to replace the whole pack (unless the whole pack is worn out or damaged).

Full battery pack for a standard range vehicle, from one of my local dealers, via parts.ford.com:

One module. Clearly these prices are highly inflated:

Yep. That's what I was saying, that people like us that can afford a $50k+ state-of-the-art new vehicle surely aren't going to be making it our primary vehicle for 500,000 miles. It will obsolete itself (as primary vehicle desire) long before that.

And once we stop making it the primary vehicle, the # of annual miles put on it typically goes way down. And eventually gets sold/traded in.

If some MMEs really ever hit 500,000 miles, it'll probably be for the 3rd or 4th owner.

Ok so are you saying a complete battery set for a long range battery is $26K?? If so that is not bad at all assuming the whole thing died.
