Charging the MME to 90% is like charging your phone to 80%.
They left 10% unusable, meaning even at 100% displayed, it is only about 90% actual.
Not exactly. There's about 5% buffer at the bottom and roughly 4% buffer at the top. 0% displayed is around 5% actual. 100% displayed is about 96% actual. Actual and displayed are about even around 49%. That's why 85% displayed is roughly 80% actual. ??

I fill it all the way up and drive it all the way down pretend it's a golf cart I'm not worried about the battery or anything like that had it for several years and very little degradation with that behavior just drive the wheels off of it.

Useless?

Have you read your manual? It provides specific instructions for charging the LFP battery.
The online version when I log into Ford says this:
AC charging preserves the health of the high voltage battery for longer high voltage battery life.
When AC charging, keep your vehicle plugged in when outside temperatures are very high or low. This enables the system to maintain the high voltage battery for best performance.
Ending the charge at 100% will maximize the driving range for your next trip. Ending the charge at 80% or lower will help to preserve the health of the high voltage battery. Charge rates are significantly slower above 80% state of charge.
Note: The system could reduce DC fast charging rate to preserve the battery. This is based on battery temperature, battery state of charge and battery health.
In cold temperatures, you may notice that DC charging takes longer when the ambient temperature drops below 50 °F (10 °C). Shutting off climate control or reducing climate control temperature and fan settings for the first 10 to 15 minutes of DC charging allows the battery to warm up and improve the charging rate.
Note: When the temperature is below freezing, fully turning off cabin heat for the first 10 to 15 minutes of DC charging could significantly improve the charging rate.

There seems to be nothing stated in the manual about the particular care of LFP high voltage batteries. At least not in the online version. $0.02, and YMMV.

Your manual in the center screen should be more accurate. The HTML version online is also more accurate - https://www.fordservicecontent.com/...ingEnabled=False&userMarket=USA&buildtype=web

Standard Range Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) Batteries
Set the maximum charge level to 100% and charge to 100% at least once per month to maintain range accuracy.

I was looking at the HTML version before, but apparently I was in the wrong section. When I searched for 'phosphate' it took me to the above text.

My Samsung phone gives me the option to save the battery and only charge to 80%. It's a lithium ion battery thing. It likes the 20 to 80% range.
At home I charge to 70% unless going long distance then as much as I need or 100%
I also normally charge to 70% at home unless going on a long trip.

As a general technology practice I avoid using acronyms for any kind of search. I look at log files, often, working in cybersecurity. I can't think of a word that includes LFP, but many times using acronyms produces undesirable search results.

Add me to the 70% at home crowd.
I have my work locations set to 80% as I use about 10% each way, and they are free.

Too much work! Ya know, it’s hot in the garage - uncoiling the cord, then coiling it back up again EVERY NIGHT, oy veh …

I let it get to 30 or 40% then charge it back up to 90% And 100% for road trips.
