2022 "Mach-E Auto" GTPE, Cyber Orange

I just got my black California vanity plate and went with the coffee theme. The black looks fabulous against the cyber orange. My wife is a big coffee person and loves macchiato's, and the car is kinda coffee foam colored (a little bit of stretch). It is also a great play on Mach-E Auto too. I am now calling the car Mach-E Auto. The plate is similar to this but in seven words.

My first pony was “Ice Blue Baby”, given it was an Iced Blue Silver Metallic and the concept that my wife thought it was my baby. Plus I like vanilla ice.

My current pony is: “Blizzard Mare”, based on ChatGPT’s suggestion. I asked it to come up with something that combines fast (it’s a GT w/ perf upgrade), Glacier Gray (the color), and pony.

Ford Mustang Mach-E What'd you name your Mach-E, and why? IMG_4545

Reminds me of a horse I once knew! I lived in what was then still called "West Germany" as an apprentice horse-trainer back in the nineties on a huge horse farm, where my job at the time was to "break" around 50 or so younglings every year to prepare them for sale or further training. One of them was this gigantic 17.2HH blue roan mare known as "die Gletscher Stute" (a mare sired by a well-known stud named "Gletscher" which is German for "glacier"). The early days of her training were easy and typical - she was flighty and a handful, but nothing unusual - but as the days progressed, it became obvious that the only progress being made was in her conditioning! Literally, every day was like her first day under saddle! It was the strangest thing, and I'm sure there must be some root medical cause, but I'm convinced that she retained no memory of the previous day's lessons! It was funny at first, like "oh, really? you've never seen a saddle or bridle before again?" Thing was, her fitness and athletic capability was growing daily, so what was at first a few awkward bucks followed by a short pleasant ride teaching her to steer, start, and stop, eventually progressed to a terrifying bucking bronco performing sunfish-like twisting "airs above ground" followed by some wild galloping to smooth out those bumps until I could get back to that "short pleasant ride teaching her to steer, start, and stop"... It was insane. Of the thousand or so horses I've ridden in my lifetime this was the only case of clinical learning disability I've ever come across! I tried everything I could think of, but nothing allowed me to break this cycle! The boss sold this amazing mare on to some poor soul, but I wonder to this day what became of my magnificent giant blue baby!

I just call mine the Mach.

Maybe boring but other names just didn’t sound right to me…

Mine’s just called Pony.

Not very original or imaginative, I know.

I often affectionately refer to it, as the family do, as the ‘Stang.

Incidentally, the ABB 22kW charge point in the garage is called “The Hayrack” because that’s where the Pony feeds at night.

Artemis. Since it's Dark Matter Gray, I originally thought I'd choose a nebula name because nebulae are where most dark matter is believed to exist- but nebula don't really have great names (crab nebula? pillars of creation nebula? turtle? bowtie? oooh oooh ooh, what about little dumbell?). Ok, so that was maybe striking out, but there is the Orion nebula - only Orion is a male and cars are definitely female (I'll die on this hill) - so I went with his lover Artemis

So there you go - a little mythology and astronomy lesson for the evening.
