Yes. That's what the manual says. Set it to 90% and plug in everyday.
I know I should know this but where do I set to charge to a percentage. In Fordpass I only set departure times not set to a percentage. I don't see it on the screen either. I am sure I am just not looking in the right place. Thanks for the help! :)

Don't set it in FordPass, unless you don't want it to reliably go to the car. In the car, it's under charging. Once you charge for a few minutes, you can set a saved location. Set hours, 90%, and Use Preferred Charge Settings, not Charge When Plugged In.

The roof sunshades from Amazon work. I pop mine in once it hits 100 out. Helps the car stay amazingly cooler, but I still crack the rear windows a touch, though it almost never rains in Chandler. The 3 click and hold unlock will drop all the windows, which helps a lot too. In WA I don't expect your battery to get anywhere near as hot as ours just due to the surface temps of driveways out here. So the battery is most likely fine, your butt on the seat, is a different issue. See the $50 amazon sunshade (put in the reflector part or it actually will end up hotter). Still might want a windshield sun shade.

It's in your charging location, you can set a % for where ever you charge at. It's now buried under apps in the dash screen.

In related news, you will not electrocute yourself unplugging your charger even if it's raining!

You can easily have the car run the A/C on hot days before you get into it. Just use FordPass to "start" the car 5-10 minutes before getting in. Don't worry about range impact - the A/C uses very little energy. You might also want to consider getting cloth seat covers.
Very true!

From what I remember in Ford pass you can override the charge till % to go 100%

In the heat, the car typically warns you to plugin when parked so the battery cooling fans can run. I’m making a week trip to Arizona where it’ll be scorching so just wondering how many people actually plugin
I'm in Phoenix, can't plug the vehicle in at work, and can't find any shady spots to park. The car's been mostly fine. ?

Yeah, it may freak out a little (i.e. lock out drive modes and reduce cabin AC) while driving after it had gotten super heat soaked at the work parking lot, but there's nothing I can do about it and again, it's been fine.

That only happens on super hot days, that most of the country never experiences.

Agreed. It happened to my vehicle maybe 10-15 times during the last two summers, combined. Like I said though, super hot on the asphalt and so forth, on hottest days of Phoenix summer.

Thanks Rick. I was able to save my location and percentage and "charge anytime vs setting times/days". I don't see an option to choose Preferred Charge settings vs Charge when plugged in.

I have been leaving my car plugged in since it has been 104 for several days. I had it set to 90% charge. I got an update 2 days ago. Today when I got in it had charged to 100%. Under charging locations for hone it still shows charge to 90% but on main charging screen at the top it says "will charge when plugged in" I don't see where to choose "preferred charge settings". Thanks for your help :)

That update trigger the 100% charge, everyone experienced that.

You have to go into Charging, and for your location it will say "Charge when plugged in" or "Use preferred charge settings".

It may still be set properly.

This is what my screen shows. I don't see where I can choose "use preferred charge settings". I must be missing something. Thanks for helping a sometimes technology challenged woman. ;)

That setting is now only in FordPass. At least that’s the only place I can find it.
