So I know these are rain sensing wipers, but have any of you noticed yours randomly wiping when there's no rain at all? There've been a few times these last couple weeks where I'll be driving along on a sunny day with no rain, and it'll have a random wipe out of the blue. That just my MME or anyone else out there seeing this too?

Mine sometimes does it when I first turn on the car. I’ve been getting a lot of pollen on it, I park it outdoors, I’ve assumed it’s been caused by that.

Interesting. That sounds a bit different from my case as I've been parking mine inside a garage, and it doesn't really look dusty or anything from what I can tell.

Might be a Ford "thing". My wife's Escape will randomly do a single sweep for no apparent reason.

Yep. Welcome to the world of rain sensing wipers. If you get anything that moves across the sensor area on the windshield it will trigger it. If you have a little dirt on that area, and you drive by something that contrasts with it enough it will trigger it.

It does seem that even on the lowest sensitivity that this car is more sensitive to it than my previous Ford's with rain sensing wipers though.

My VW has rain sensing and does the same thing. It’s just the sensors being over reactive. Kind of annoying

happened twice. thought I must have touched the stalk button though. Also heating fan came on for no reason a couple time when off. Software bugs likely.

Yea I have it on my 2013 Lincoln but it happens more rarely with that then this 2021 MME... guess the new car wants to stay really shiny ?

After a month and a half, my car suddenly started with these random wipes. Only once or twice a day, but quite annoying! Has anyone solved??

You must be able to turn the wipers off. That should eliminate any rain sense activation.

Teslas do the same thing....out of nowhere it will just start wiping away...yet, when there is some wetness on the windshield....Nada! Very frustrating sometimes.

For me it has seemed to get better, but I haven't changed a thing other than bringing it in for the 21B02 recall.

My MME does this every once in a while. Is everyone just accepting this as normal? My Porsche has rain sensing wipers and they work nearly flawlessly.

Maybe folks need to reduce the sensitivity.

The rain sensors on my ELR would occasionally be triggered by light patterns. I was hoping the technology would be better on the MME but maybe not.
