Sounds like they are finally telling people about preconditioning on the way to a DC fast charger.
Also power steering updates.

It does. Ford sometimes likes to include old info it never told people about in new release notes.

Lol, I'm already confused by the release notes. En-route preconditioning 20 miles out was added in 3.6.2, which is powertrain updates, and it's mentioning steering which is ADAS updates. So which one is it Ford?

Yeah, I guess if they forget to tell people about something they put it in a random future OTA's release notes even though the change happened several updates ago.

Pre-conditioning doesn’t work for me. I’m on the update that came after 4.2.6. I’ve set the Ford Nav to a EA station about 30 miles out. Got to the charger and got a whopping 55KW charging speed. And it was 70+F outside.

That's certainly more of an issue with the station itself, in my experience. Your car would receive it more efficiently/faster, however due to whatever issue, the station is only putting out 55KW.

These PSCM has nothing to do with LKA's ability to do its job. You're after an IPMA update for 21/22s.

how does the preconditioning work? i never use the built in nav only google maps. i should separately type in "electrify america XYZ location" and press start? will both google maps and nav give me directions then?

You can only have one nav going at a time. If you are using google maps and then you start another route through the built in nav it will cancel the google maps route.

just set your destination to known charger and it will precondition on the way.

oof ok. yeah i have a strong preference not to use the nav haha, a man of routine some would say. maybe will need to make the exception for winter charging or something

Ya winter road trips is the only time I would use this, and even then, only when I’m 20 miles out.
