You guys in the US have no idea what waiting actually is. I pre-ordered a Grabber Blue First Edition on the release date of 18th Nov 2019. We could only confirm our orders on the 11th December 2020 which I did. 20-23 weeks delivery estimate from that date which would have been towards the end April mid-May. Being a First edition, they have decided to build it last for us guys so whilst quite a few RWD SR & ER and AWD SR & ER vehicles have already been made and ready to ship, I still don't even have a production date which means July is a more likely date.

Glad I can vent my anger here as some people were getting quite pissed with my rantings!

Good luck to everyone here on getting their cars as early as possible and just think about me having to wait another 5/6 months. Yeah!!!

Strange considering the intent to focus on customer order cars first. Are you going to test drive one of the FCTP cars?
If I get an opportunity. This is a crazy busy two weeks at work coupled with my mom’s health declining rapidly and now putting a car purchase into the middle of it. We will see

Honestly that doesn't matter that much to me. Sure they got a car before me but this really isn't a race is it? (Yeah the whole Mustang thing notwithstanding LOL)

I'm going to get a car built specifically for me..sure it will be one of a few hundred IB Route 1's (HAHA all you Priemium owners will be one of thousands!! ok sorry). I didn't play the lottery and just took whatever showed up on the dealers lot...

(Ok yeah this is all what I keep telling myself to not get PO'ed LOL.)
Once issue right now for me in terms of the delay / waiting boils down to depreciation. We all are essentially buying a MY21 which by now is beyond the halfway mark. EV's traditionally don't fair well in this department so I am grumpy about taking a considerable hit due to the delays. If I had to do it all over again I would have ordered the premium given the lower cost difference vs. the FE. I originally ordered the FE thinking I would be taking delivery the latest December 2020 and would truly be the first delivered edition "FE".

Ford should have shipped confirmed purchases first and made sure they made it to the dealers first. I say confirmed, should have setup a second deposit to hold and confirm actual buyers.

Yes I know, its a rant, sorry in advance..

Time to be grumpy again ? See my post in the ever growing 'deliveries eminent' post. But the short version is this....car escaped speedway jail and has now sat in a railyard for 11 days with no movement. Other members cars arriving at this yard were shipped within a day or two...not mine...

But hey people who didn't reserve the car can walk into a dealer a buy one...I'm so glad I reserved one 14 months ago...? First Edition my ass by the time it ever gets delivered it should be changed to last of the 2021 model year.

My Mach-E is on a railcar about 1 mile from my dealership right now. She has to travel 100 miles south just to travel another 100 miles north again via Truck... ??
How did you track the rail car? Ohhh I so hope I can do this too!

I have the option to buy a Rapid Red now instead of Grabber Blue in late March. My wife likes the red better. I am seriously thinking of letting my reservation go and getting the red instead. No ADM and I am tired of waiting.
That was a waste of 4 hours spent in traffic going to see Russel & Smith Ford in Houston.

I filled in the contact me information on the dealer's website. Their concierge people called me. I asked if the car was reserved. They said "No." I asked if it was for sale and they said "Yes the car is in transit but it will be here next week. You can come do all of the paperwork now and we will deliver it to you when it comes in." They said they took Xplan and knew what Ford Options was. That should have been the dead give away.

I made an appointment for 6 PM Monday evening. I showed up early and a salesguy came buzzing over as soon as I stepped out of my truck.

I told the salesguy I had a 6 PM appointment with the finance department to do the paperwork on a Mach E. The salesguy got that look on his face like he just the most bitter thing ever. He said the concierge people are a 3rd party and they gave me bad information. I spoke with sales director Simon and he said the same thing. The most fustrating thing was that they would never take responsibility for the error. They just kept saying it was a third party. I showed him the emails I got from the concierge saying there were part of Russell & Smith Ford. I told him of my conversation. Didn't matter to the Director of Sales. He would just say they were a third party. Russell & Smith would not take any responsibility for the error.

That attitude bugs the crap out of me. They might be a third party, but if you are the one who hired the third party, you are responsible for their actions. They are acting like some random group of vandals decided to start acting like the Concierge service all on their own and they can't get them to stop.

I hire all manner of consultants and subcontractors in my line of work, but at the end of the day if they mess up, the buck stops with me. I can blame them later on my own time, but with a customer or stakeholder someone has to take the responsibility.

New update. I was able to find a dealership in Betonville Arkansas with two Mach FEs in stock (how? why? I don't know but one was a retail order and one was a stock order). A blue one (retail) and a red one (stock order). The blue one sold yesterday and I am picking up the red one on Saturday after flying up there from Austin. The dealership took X-Plan but they can't do Options because Arkansas doesn't allow balloon payments. Then I get to drive it 8 hours to Austin TX (534 miles) to drop it off at the Xpel shop for PPF. My first BEV and I am taking it on a really long road trip. I am stopping in Dallas to charge it overnight. Fun times.
