Installed one of the new Craig’s license plate mounts (http://ccmustangbrackets.com/product/2021-mustang-mach-e/ ) that are listed as working with the MME. Today I did a road trip down the coast and it seems to interfere with the parking sensors. Nearly every time I slow to 5 mphs or less, the parking cameras come on and the 2 sensors at the front of the car light up as red along with the steady warning tone.

Has anyone had success with this bracket?

I think I solved it. I still only have my temp paper plate (with a flimsy plastic backing). Turns out that during a stop the bottom can flap out and trigger the parking sensors. I added some tape to hold the bottom of it down and now the sensors don’t trip.

Another solution is to just remove the front plate. :)

I remove it from every car I have owned for the past 20 years and I have gotten a ticket for it in every car I have ever owned.

So I got my permanent plate and sure enough it’s causing the sensors to go crazy. I decided to try a DIY solution to make the Craig’s bracket work and it works great! Everything was off the shelf parts from a local hardware store for less than $5.

I used 5mm bolts (2 x 9mm long and 2 x 10mm). Flange nuts, safety washers and a drop of locktite.

It keep setting off the proximity sensors, even when you aren’t close to anything.
Yeah I mean why was that happening? Was the metal frame too loose or something? Reason I'm asking is that I want to buy a different license plate frame (not like the one you have pictured), but I'd like to anticipate what design features might cause the sensors to go crazy

Craigs mount lowers the position of the plate from the factory location and it apparently intersects with the sensor area. Raising the plate up a bit fixed it.

I have the same issue w/the craig's front plate. Do you have a material list of what you used so I can do the same fix :) Thank you much.

I found everything at my local hardware store.

I used 5mm bolts (2 x 9mm long and 2 x 10mm). Flange nuts, safety washers and a drop of locktite.

The bracket is about 2” long and fit the 5mm bolts perfect.

Good news: I just made the same adapter and it seemed to be working.
Bad news: the whole bracket fell off the car -- fortunately when my wife had it at an event and was parked.

Here's the email I just sent Craig. I'll let y'all know what he says.

------------------------------------

Hi Craig,

I and several other Mustang Mach E owners on the Mach E Forum bought your brackets. Two issues have emerged:

1. Design problem. Several of us have found that the bracket holds the license plate too low and it interferes with the front radar sensors. This causes erratic warnings at low speed. One of the other members came up with a revised design that lifts the plate higher. You might want to redesign the Mach E holder to raise the plate about 1 1/2 inches or so. Here are photos of the jury-rigged fix using a 2” metal bracket.

2. Adhesive failure. The adhesive strip failed. As you can see from the first photo above, the adhesive strip came loose from the bracket. I recall the adhesive was already installed when I received it. You can see from the next photo that the adhesive strips are still on the Mustang just fine:

What do you suggest to (a) remove the adhesive strip from the car and (b) adhere the bracket back onto the car?

Thanks,
Mark

Installed Craig bracket about a month ago and had problems with sensors. Found
Murphydogs update and worked great. I made call to Craig and he said ok and emailed him and didn't respond, didn't seem to care. First adhesive lasted about a week. Purchase a new roll from amazon and replace and has been on almost a month. If you need some 3M VHB tape let me know. The VHB tape peeled off relatively easy from the bumper and clean with a alcohol pad.
