I have had a very thorough response from Hannah about some of my queries, I have gone back to her to clarify a few more questions. She said I could share her response here, so I hope this is useful:

I understand there is confusion on the forums, I have updated a couple of customers on this. Your Space White Mustang Mach-E is on board the Grande Florida.

As you may have heard, the boats are taking different routes. I am not updated on this regularly, and neither is the shipping team. It is only when I enquire, then I get updated. This is true for the Graal San Martin which now has the route of docking at Lagos, when it was previously suggested it wasnā€™t going anywhere near Lagos. As you can imagine I donā€™t like giving out information which is potentially false, as myself and my team only get told as and when enquired.

Iā€™ve been on the case and I am getting even more involved with the shipping department as a whole to make sure this is amended as I only want to give the correct and most up to date info for everyone. An update from today shows me the Grande Florida will be estimated to arrive in Antwerp around the 22nd April. I am in the process of finding out exact routes, but as you can imagine, it is very hard to find out due to Ford not being in charge of the schedule.

The other enquiry recently has been that there are ONLY transits on the vessel. This is false. There is a number of Mustang Mach-Eā€™s on the Grande Florida. European Transits are not made in Mexico, they are made in Europe.

After docking in Europe, all the vehicles are offloaded to Antwerp. Antwerp is the host of a new inspection centre, where all the vehicles are unloaded and have to pass a 50-point check before they can be released for delivery. This is to make sure there are no quality concerns and they can fine tune the car. They process up to 300 Mach-E models every day. There an electronic report is generated using an online inspection tool, which immediately reports any issues. That information is shared at the Ford CuautitlĆ”n stamping and assembly plant in Mexico, where all the Mustang Mach-Eā€™s are manufactured.

The checks take an estimated 5-10 weeks turnover time. From Antwerp it then takes an estimated 6 days to ship to the UK. This means your estimated time can still be June. Overall, the cars go through 4 main checks. The only chance of the car ā€œdisappearingā€ as such is the time between these checks. This cannot be tracked by myself or dealers. The status from ā€œAntwerpā€ only changes when it leaves Antwerp, to Flushing (Belgium) and then finally arriving into Dagenham.

To save on fuel emissions and being more economically friendly to the environment, there is a very short wait at Dagenham for the cars to be loaded on transport that are going to the same places. You might be able to gauge it by the order of the boats that went into Antwerp. As the assumption is the first cars which arrived there will be among the first to leave but still bear in mind about the short wait at Dagenham.

Please feel free to share this information on the forums as I know it will help clear up confusion.

The information on the PICG grant is with your dealer, on whether it was put through or not. Please contact your dealer on the update of this.

Kind regards

Hannah
Lucky as my delaer is Dagenham.

I think the lits came by email. I remember seeing a matrix of locations and dates. I can't find the email now.
All the dates and locations are now on the Ford UK website at the link I posted this morning. ?

Got my test drive booked for this weekend!?

Hi all, first post after lurking for a month or so.

Had an hour's test drive at Evans Halshaw Preston today (ER RWD). I'm very impressed. Jotted a few thoughts down below covering the common questions which you might be interested in.

Performance was better than expected for the RWD, felt very lively and good. Suspension was firm, in a good way in my opinion as I prefer cars like that. It wasn't harsh though, just firm. Flat on turns, although I couldn't find a decent twisty A Road to really try it.

Sound insulation was very good, none of the wind noise complaints from the US cars with the dodgy panoramic roofs, this one was fitted flush to the windscreen and was very quiet.

The drivers display buzz mentioned by the Americans was there, but was incredibly quiet, none of my passengers could hear it and you had to have everything turned off to notice it. As soon as you were moving or even had the radio on volume 1 you couldn't hear it.

Interior seemed very well put together, amazed at the rear seat space. Driver's seat was comfortable, and materials felt very good. Better quality than our S550 Mustang or the Mk5 Mondeo I had prior. Most touch points feel very good, the seats feel good, the dash is nice and everything opens and closes well, but not all of the materials and some common Ford parts bin items like the stalks aren't up there with a true luxury car.

I really liked it!

Thanks for your report. I'm looking at and testing one at Vospers in Plymouth on the 12th of May. I'll see if I can add anything!

One question though- how big is it and does it compare to say a Tesla 3, as everything you read suggests it's a similar size in a vague way...

I think it compares as similar size to the Kuga when I checked a while back but some people have seen it and say thing like 'it's bigger than it looks in the photos'.

Hope this helps a little. My current car is along side, a 2017 Skoda Superb. Similar in length, but obvious differences in height, especially at bonnet end!

Thought Iā€™d try and add a few pics people may not have seen before.
NOTE: This is a RWD SR (Bottom of the range)

Mirror from underside - Showing the Puddle Light Lamp!

Boot - Smaller than I thought but I am coming from a Skoda Superb which I can pretty much lie down in without moving chairs! (Itā€™s massive!). Not an issue though to me.

Documentation - Not much at all, very thin booklet and few other leaflets inc a card with PIN number. The full manual is available on the screen however.

Glovebox - Quite Small, but plenty of other storage options in vehicle.

Wheel - I like them! Would prefer the better spec versions, but no issues with this at all, and looking at the car as a whole, I didnā€™t feel like the wheels were too small, which I have seen others mention.

Internal storage Under Arm Rest - Decent size.

I haven't been in a Model 3 so can't speak with confidence, but it's bigger. Bigger than I expected looking at the pictures. I pulled up alongside an Evoque and it was similar in height. Was very spacious inside in a way I didn't expect.

I've made an order now as well. ?

It is 200mm longer, 13mm wider(including mirrors) but not as tall as a Kuga (not current model)

Short video - There is ā€œsomeā€œ noise from the screen in front of the steering wheel.

NOTE: I was parked up and it was barely audible.

On my test drive, I turned off ALL heating & fans, the radio, and had No propulsion sounds. I couldnā€™t hear the screen in general driving, but there was some noticeable wind noise from the drivers door. However again this was barely audible. I think once you have any fans on or the radio etc you likely wouldnā€™t notice.

Screen was responsive. Fingerprints were only noticeable once the screen was off.

I have no gripes anyway, and nothing that would put me off owning one.

Could of final general pics & thoughts.

Key Fob was a Ford Fob (Not a Mustang on back). Only over Ford Logoā€™s I seen was on screen when start up & at top of Windscreen.

Frunk was smaller than expected. Big enough for cables etc or say a laptop bag. Will likely get used by myself for storing little used items, rest would go in boot (easier to access). Just to note it did take a good slam to shut it again!

Bare in mind my comparison point is a Skoda Superb 1.6 Diesel which is slow!!
This thing is fast & responsive! Setting off is quick, 30-50 is very fast! (In my opinion)
With everything turned off noise wise, it is just a gentle hum even when flooring it! Motorway speeds it is fairly similar to my normal car noise wise, not silent, but not obtrusive.

Everyone will have their own opinion. I would 100% recommend going for a test drive.

I now ONLY have to wait until End of Sept / Oct till mine is due!! ?ā€ā™‚
