Posted this in a thread but wanted to share it here, too, since it’s relevant:

I just called the Mach E helpline:

- Order bank opens 06/26. She didn’t have an open time.
- If FE are available, you can change it here. Not sure how that works since I’m sure many are still reservation holders that may just let their reservation expire.
- Some reservations will have to be confirmed by 08/01 and others by 12/31. She referenced the Select as being one you have until 12/31, so I’m guessing Premium and FE models will have to be confirmed by 08/01.
- If there are FE, it will be on a first come first serve basis. Meaning that a lower reservation number does not grant you a better chance of obtaining one.
- All specs and pricing will be published before ordering. Not sure how that will work if your dealer decides to charge an ADM.

I am a little skeptical about being able to place a GT order this early. I say this because GT reservation holders didn’t received the email that most everyone received yesterday. Additionally, I’d be surprised if pricing and specs would be confirmed for a model over a year out. So not sure if her statement was accurate or just an assumption.

I'm somewhat concerned that they will not allow Premium reservation holders to upgrade to GT.

It’s funny because I wondered the opposite. Since GT reservation holders aren’t getting the same communications, I’m wondering if we would be able to change in this first round of ordering.

This whole process is so convoluted. Manufacturer reservations and the dealership model just don't mix well. So many conflicting elements of each.

I did. They told me all reservations would be available to order next Friday and we could change trim levels.

I just wasn’t sure if that was accurate information since GT reservation holders did not receive the email from Ford stating That it was almost time to convert our orders. Additionally, all the other leaks indicated GT orders would be converted at a later and separate time.

I asked your question and Kumar Galhotra says there was a lot of thought around this and yes you will be able to switch from Premium to GT.

I called and asked specifically about changing dealers. The person I talked to said that the ordering process would ask if we wanted to still use the same dealer that we picked initially, or if we wanted to change dealers. I asked about the date that would happen and I was told that the date was not specifically decided yet, that it should happen by the end of the month.

I just spoke to my local Ford dealer for the first time about the Mach-E reservation and the info. he got was that the order bank would be open on July 22nd. I see others are quoting the help line as saying June 26th. I wonder if the later date is because of my reservation number being 10040--- range, or if he just got wrong information.

It would seem logical to convert the Gt later, as it is at least a year away unfortunately. Does that make it a '22 model?
I expect that although coming late summer, the GTs will still be 2021 model year.

The later conversion for GT orders makes sense, except for previous statements that folks would be able to convert to different models than reserved. It doesn't impact me because I'm only considering a GT (along with non-Ford options) but it could impact folks who reserved a GT but wanted the option to instead order a premium or select now. I don't see how they could do that as GT reservations aren't being given the option to order now along with others.

I found it. Click on the "View your reservation" and it says I am allowed up two Mach e reservations. Probably not on the same number though....

Also says my preorder date is 11-4-2020. :(
Interested, I don’t have a preorder date, just N/A—N/A- there.
